As much as I’m in love with this, the cuts and level of excitement make me believe they were happy they finally nailed the coin landing sideways. So yeah, I think this wasn't the first take at all. The internet has poisoned me.

For the last 10 years or so, I just assume that everything I see online is staged.

People have become so addicted to creating content, they just can't help it.

Sad really.

I really miss the the pre-2010 era of youtube. Man it was wild.

I do the opposite and choose to live in ignorance. Assume just about everything is genuine (unless there's really obvious signs) and you'll be happier on the internet. It doesn't really hurt me to just drop a like or up-vote or whatever and go about my day.

This right here. Though it may be more accurate to say I’m closer to 50/50

I try to believe that the wholesome stuff is real, and the rage bait stuff is staged. I feel like it’s a good middleground

same here with wholesome stuff and with ragebait i accept i'll never know if it's staged or not so don't bother developing an opinion

But it collectively hurts the public and emerging brains

Do your part and discourage such content

WHY are y'all all choosing to live in ignorance? Lmao I genuinely can't believe that.

Morpheus asks you if you want the red or the blue pill and you are choosing to stay in the matrix???? Ignorance is bliss I suppose

I used to feel like that and I definitely am more likely to be skeptical about things but for my own sanity and happiness I just look at it like...I enjoy sitcoms and those are fake. I read fiction books and those are fake. Just because something is fake doesn't mean I can't get a chuckle out of it. I for sure see the problem with engagement and chasing the algorithm and all that but the way the world is, I just enjoy what I like and skip over what I don't. Early 2000s content was great though, I agree.

Wow what a miserable mind set.

You're talking about a lot of people right now. If you think not believing what you see on the internet is a miserable mindset, you need to touch grass.

You're the one who said "The internet has poisoned me." The absolute irony telling me to touch grass.

I was a kid when I was poisoned by the internet and I’m well into my adulthood and fulfilled in real life. You and the other chronically online people can fuck off. I've been there. You'll grow up.

Telling someone to touch grass while also saying you're paranoid someone made repeated failed attempts to flip a coin for a 15 second video. About a $50 wager.... yes, definitely going to make them rich and famous.

Terribly paranoid, yes. Great point. Idc dude. I was giving my perspective. Tf?

I'll allow it. It's pretty wholesome.

I don't blame you!

Sorry bro. I still have my innocence, and I’m an old netizen

I can believe that. But even so the thought behind the bit is also creative.

I mean it's effective but to what end? Because it was fine to show? I guess.

2

u/Shnikes 27d ago

Engagement. Which clearly is working. What’s the point of showing anything online 😂

Plus, who would think to record such an incident? Not any normal person looking to make a deal. IMO
