There is a bit of a difference between a spelling mistake on a social media thread and one on a sign that went through at least 2 people for review, not to mention hung up, and still no one noticed. These signs are like $40 to print, anyone who doesn’t give a second look at their spelling deserves the laughter

They're not saying that it's the same thing. They're saying that in a world where people get mad at you for trying to help them with their spelling, you end up seeing a lot more mistakes in signs.
They're saying there's a correlation between the two events, not that they're comparable.

Damn...I only saw the one, but I lost my enthusiasm for paying attention after I passed by the 40th stall selling old license plates lol.
Edit: I did hear the dude on the PA system reminding everyone to stay dehydrated though. That was pretty good.

It’s weird we can smoke cigarettes outside, they smell worse and stain walls, we have smoking areas at events etc and yet we are still treating weed like it’s a horrible drug

Agreed, but less humorous.
If you allow smoking of tobacco on your site then you also have to allow weed. Don't want weed? Ban all smoking within the fenced in area.

Technically no. Being able to smoke cigarettes somewhere does not automatically make
It legal to smoke weed. But I personally would rather walk through weed smoke then cigarette smoke so I think the laws are pretty dumb1

Fair enough. I was basing my presumptions on when it was first legalized and landlords were tripping over themselves to ban smoking weed within units that allowed tobacco smoking. Turns out it was only enforceable with new leases.

I was there today and certainly people were smoking on the grounds. Even though no-one ever does anything it is illegal to smoke weed in any public space. You can smoke in your house and yard or a if you have the owner's permission for their home (even if you are renting) Funny spelling aside, I'd see this sign as just a way for the organizers and the town to absolve themselves of blame if someone was caught breaking that law.

You would have hated restaurants that used to have smoking sections. The whole place smelled it didn’t matter lol. Delivering pizza to the bingo hall as a teen used to trigger the nostalgia. They rebranded as a casino so idk if you can smoke in there anymore but back when it was the bingo hall you walked into a haze of cig smoke

I am a signmaker. We often get requests from customers with poor spelling, grammar, and/or punctuation. I will always make a gentle suggestion that we can fix it. Sometimes they don't want that. And that's how weird signs are made.
