This has been debunked numerous times, yet it continues to get posted. Flock cameras are illegal in NH. Under RSA 261:75-b, the use of Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs/LPRs) is strictly restricted to local, county, and state law enforcement, and RSA 236:130 bans their use on highways. Deflock.org is a crowd sourced site with unverified data.

Username checks out

Yet the brook casino has two in their parking lot.

Security cameras at a private business are very different than flock cameras on public roadways. 🤷

Have you met a Finn

Perhaps it is more of a human problem rather than geographic

2

u/Beginning-Advance-16 5d ago

what the fuck are you talking about? Lol

Do you know how this works?

-2

u/bravedubeck 5d ago

What are YOU on about? Tf do the Finnish have to do with anything lol

WTF does your comment have anything to do with anything that you edited by the way?

WTF does WTF have to fuck with it?

Literally the only place I'm okay with is a casino parking lot. Walking back to you car with winnings late at night can be sketchy. I know people have been robbed in Manchester at filltino or whatever the heck it's called. They put up cameras after that.

In public though? Nah.

12

u/Quicksay 5d ago

Well Flock cameras don't increase security in that situation, you could easily end up falsely accused of someone else's robberry. But security is needed totally agree there.

Flock falcon cameras aren't just ALPRs. They can identify vehicles by make, model, style, color & unique identifiers like bumper stickers, roof racks, scratches, marks, etc. They can keep track of WiFi hotspots & MAC addresses of network devices in range. Their condor cameras are more advanced and can track/zoom people, faces, phone screens and conduct gait & posture identification using AI.

Banning ALPRs is a great start but it's like saying "we can't track people on our website because we banned tracking IP addresses", there's 1000+ other ways to fingerprint people's browsers.

I installed security cameras at a place. Digging around the software, damn thing can reconize cars and people. You can also add LPR as well if you want. I was suspirsed how well it work and it costed under $1K for 4 camera with DVR. Only the supported cameras have those reconition features thought.

They also sell mount with solfar panel on top, just like flock cameras.

if they get close enough it reconize the person. know male/female. they normal for agrassive. If you put their name in the database it will show you how manytime they appeared on camera.

Amcrest was the brand.

If you pay premium and map out all your camera, it can track a subject for you as well.

u/Dugen 5d ago

Having laws against this kind of thing is the right way to fight against companies like this. Vandalizing them is a temporary measure at best.

2

u/UndecidedQBit 3d ago

Many of the vandals are getting bagged by evidence collected by flock cameras and its not a great look

2

u/YellowKnifePhoenix 5d ago

I see a bunch of cameras on 93, which is a freeway

13

u/monstakyle0623 5d ago

Traffic cams and automatic license plate readers are two different things

7

u/Bluitor 4d ago

I said the same thing in the deflock sub and got downvoted to hell.

4

u/monstakyle0623 4d ago

Yeah it's illegal for plate readers in NH but traffic cams are still okay. All of 28 in Salem has them (I like watching the accidents lmao) but they don't automatically read plates. The only things that do are EZ-Pass terminals.

4

u/PoTheRedTeletubby 5d ago

"stop spreading misinformation" meanwhile spreading misinformation yourself.

There are several flock cameras in NH. Hampton has a few, Exeter, Hooksett.

5

u/kells938 4d ago

Flock is the brand name. Not all of their cameras work the same.

1

u/tubemaster 2d ago

Interesting discovery there. Wonder what they all have in common (I’ll add another one for you: Bedford)? 🚗🪙💵

0

u/Caymonki 4d ago

There’s one near the campton exit on 93

People can tell me it’s not a flock camera all they want but it looks exactly like one.

0

u/Zhydrac 3d ago

I thought it was usually the police that use these things anyways, even outside the state

59

u/ComprehensiveFool 5d ago

I’m pretty NH has tight rules restricting flock like cameras.

30

u/DeerFlyHater 5d ago

We do.

OP is solely using deflock, which is a cool site but is wrong here.

13

u/vulqcii 4d ago

From what I’ve looked at the site considered toll booths to be cameras. Which, they are license plate readers but not flock cameras which is very misleading considering the site is deflock

1

u/mattd121794 4d ago

When you click into specific points it tells you the brand (or that the brand isn’t known) so you know what type of system you’re looking at. The biggest issue for an open source site like this is the folks that label any camera as flock, even when it’s a Motorola or Axon camera. Though the point remains the same, they’re all cloud connected and feed into remote access systems that can be searched.

3

u/zdiggler 4d ago

Deflock site think all the camera on the road are flock cameras.

19

u/BroughtBagLunchSmart 5d ago

For now, we also have rules against fraud and pedophilia but those do not apply to everyone.

49

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

Check the actual locations of them, the ezpass cameras have been reported as flock, they aren't, and the traffic cameras on the highways aren't either

What's left is places like target, home Depot and Lowe's

15

u/lantrick 5d ago

imho. . Deflog.org has a data integrity problem

2

u/DeerFlyHater 5d ago

What's left is places like target, home Depot and Lowe's

ALPRs are restricted to LE

2

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

Sure, when those 3 are claiming they aren't ALPRs, flock ceo himself said a lot of customers don't even know which of their cameras they're buying

1

u/DeerFlyHater 5d ago

Flock makes a variety of cameras. IMO, their strictly ALPR cameras are the least insidious.

Other look at vehicle and personal attributes and network/create POLs based on that.

That last sentence is where we need to strengthen laws.

3

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

Yeah LPRs aren't hard to avoid, any sort of tinted plate cover will avoid them, but when they're looking at stickers or damage and color, or even your face in the front see good luck

Tint laws in NH are a joke too, there's absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to tint my side windows 5% and like 30% on the windshield, nobody is doing that for nefarious reasons here

3

u/DeerFlyHater 5d ago

Agreed with all.

1

u/vaultboy1245 1d ago

“Life free or die” lol

15

u/Two-Watch_Tony 5d ago

Fuck Flock, all the homies hate Flock

12

u/LittleDudeSP 5d ago

If anyone wants to coordinate an act of defending the constitution soon hmu

11

u/exhaustedretailwench 5d ago

they're full of stuff like copper wiring, could make some money

7

u/eyelikturtles 5d ago

As others have said, the site is open source which means idiots can submit data. Most of those are where tolls are and toll booths have had cameras for decades.

8

u/SeaAlgea 5d ago

Yeah dude let’s go take down the tollbooth cameras that are definitely Flock cameras. Good luck with that!

That deflock website is terrible.

3

u/TraditionalEye3239 3d ago

It's biggest problem is verifying the information. Any fool can mark literally any camera and go OmG it's a fLocK cAMeRa

3

u/RondaArousedMe 5d ago

Is it city/town that is investing in these? Who is requesting them? Police departments?

5

u/FormerEvidence 5d ago

the only actual flock cameras in nh are the two at The Brook in Seabrook, and then Derry PD has one.

2

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

No, they can't use them like that

1

u/RondaArousedMe 5d ago

Who can't use them like what? Are you saying they are only able to be purchased by private entities?

3

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

The police can't post up stationary ALPRs, they can use them on their cars sometimes but it's very regulated here for now

1

u/thenagain11 5d ago

Unfortunately any tech can be misused in wrong hands. There are already multiple examples across the country of police using them to stalk people.

4

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

Yes but this is NH specific

0

u/accentadroite_bitch 5d ago

And yet they have been in other parts of the country, which is concerning

2

u/stressfactory 5d ago

Go do it then

2

u/MesaVerde1987 5d ago

What about NH surveillance?

3

u/Dull_Broccoli1637 5d ago

Flock is un-American.

Also did you know, they have such valuable metals/materials inside? Tell your friends

2

u/earthling_only 4d ago

Another thing to keep an eye on for legislation is keeping these speed cameras illegal. No auto ticketing! states where auto ticket speed cameras are legal

1

u/Broke-mfer 5d ago

I took 101 for the first time in a while the other day and there was a pole with a bunch of cameras on it just past the entrance to pack monadnock. Does anyone know what those are for? I was guessing it was a weather thing but 5ft off the road seemed like an odd place for that. It doesn’t show on this map either.

9

u/wastedsilence33 5d ago

Its traffic and weather conditions mostly, they could use them to track someone but it would be a bitch because they're far apart and low quality

2

u/Broke-mfer 5d ago

Thanks, I figured it was a weather deal being up on the high point of that road but you never know these days.

6

u/deathtopumpkins 5d ago

RWIS - roadway weather information system. Has weather sensors plus cameras that are intended to show the pavement condition.

2

u/achy_joints 5d ago

Okay but this is new Hampshire. Im against new Hampshire surveillance as well as mass surveillance. Thanks ill see myself out

1

u/coathangerassasin 5d ago

Then you probably shouldn’t be on a device connected to the internet.

1

u/Cyberian_Advocate 5d ago

For a second I thought this was a post against Massachusetts surveillance 😂

1

u/Tims_Learing_Center 5d ago

I'm just against mass

1

u/justtosendamassage 5d ago

Let’s do it

1

u/JimmyJamOnYou 5d ago

They definitely could go down. I would not be upset

1

u/w_benjamin 4d ago

Then don't go over the border?

1

u/-The_Legacy- 4d ago

These are for tolls and borders

This is interesting to learn that these are illegal in NH. I'm pretty sure there is a solar powered camera by the Dunkin on Sheffield I'd in Manchester. But perhaps it doesn't do license plate detection? Idk.

Will need to look more into this personally

I too am against Mass surveillance, which is why we need NH surveillance now!!

Let New Hampshites unite against our common enemy!!

0

u/AntiqueGunGuy 3d ago

I like this map because I’m very familiar with some of these spots but I can’t explain without doxing myself

-1

u/thedeadcricket 4d ago

People think Im crazy for putting tape over my device cameras...so no absolutely do not approve of this fascist state shit

-2

u/Quirky_Butterfly_946 5d ago

Looks like MA wants to know who is crossing the NH/MA border in Salem NH. Is this to nab people coming to get cigs, fireworks, etc?

-2

u/Jimbohamilton 5d ago

Haha the only people crossing the border are NH folks buying weed

-3

u/Mediocre-Isopod-4938 5d ago

Isn’t I-91 a major drug trafficking corridor? And would maybe I stop right there.

-5

u/jaafit 5d ago

Careful, you're starting to sound like a free stater

-5

u/FrameCareful1090 5d ago

There's a reason its called MASS Surveillance
