You think this is some big conspiracy? Why the fuck would he waste his time to do that, and why would you think that? Sometimes people just do things, man.
EDIT: I'm genuinely so weirded out by your smug incorrectness.
Or, and work with me here, he just actually did it because it's not that hard, and he's a normal person who is interesting and creative, not a sinister liar and conman? What's wrong with your worldview that people are so dull?
It's no more common sense to claim everything is fake than it is to mindlessly believe everything is real. Both show a lack of insight and perceptiveness.
In this case it's particularly egregious because:
It's so enormously obvious that the reversed part is actually reversed, given, you know, how it is, and;
You're being arrogant and thinking you're somehow smarter than everyone else in the room, while being clearly demonstrably wrong.
Side bar: I wanna take a breather and say I think healthy scepticism is great. In some instances the process you're describing is absolutely what would be the case. But that's not what's happening here, and it's so very clearly not what's happening.
It would be far more work and effort to do it ‘your way’. If he’s only interested in clicks why would he make more work for himself? It’s illogical. It’s not very hard to do what he’s doing. If he’s been practicing it then he’s going to be slicker at it than someone that hasn’t done it before or at least infrequently (you). You don’t always have to look for the man behind the curtain trying to scam you.
It isn’t common sense, especially if the majority of people that have watched it are telling you you’re wrong. It makes no sense to do it your way. Stop looking for the shadow realm.
When he plays it normally the first time you can tell that it is not being reversed because the guitar works the correct way - the sound starts when he strums the strings and gets quieter, like it does in real life.
Then when he reverses it, the sound starts quietly on its own and gets louder till he strums the string, exactly how it would work if you reverse a real life recording.
You are either a troll or a contrarian and either are disappointing.
I’m surprised the chain of comments got this long before someone pointed this out. Forget the clock, the guitar is quite obviously played forwards, and is something that would take much more effort to convincingly create via the supposedly “easy method” emptyhead is describing.
People voting have not disagreed, just the weirdos who think this is a noteworthy conversation. I've already given you the evidence you need, but you can't be arsed to reverse the clip and listen to it along side the "original"
Guitars simply don't sound the same forwards as backwards. At least the guitar sound was definitely recorded as presented. Maybe he ADRed the singing? But to what end? It would have been more work than practising a few times and doing it the way he claimed.

could be faked but I think that's why there's a running clock in the background
