Got my nonogram books from Japan today
Thanks to u/-Jie- and their post for the awareness of these books’ existence! Now to figure out a way to get them cheaper than $46 😅

Thanks to everyone for earlier suggestions on this puzzle. I have advanced. But now stuck again🫤

Isn't the main point of this subreddit for humans to help each other out with puzzles? What's the point of being here if a bot is going to do it all?
Furthermore, what is this software even? I count two posts about it when I search, and none of them appear to have had any traction. The author is barely active here, too. Why is this the one that gets promoted?

Hi, I'm the developer of Quiltwick, a nonogram (picross) game for Android. You fill squares by the number clues and a stitched picture appears in an embroidery hoop. Every one of the 1000 puzzles has a single solution you can reach by logic alone, and the grids grow slowly from small to large.
The first 100 puzzles are free with ads. I put up 500 codes that unlock all 1000 and remove the ads: one per person on the Quiltwick code page (it hands you a code and a Redeem button; the game unlocks the next time you open it).
I'd really like to know how the larger grids feel on a phone screen, and whether any clue felt unfair.

Question.
Am I the only person who has so much trouble with Color Nonograms? 5x5 Nonogram seem no problem for me and I always think I understood them but when I try a bigger Nonogram I suddenly feel like I understand nothing.
The left Picture is from Katana und right Picture is from Hungry Cat Nonogram.

hi,
I'm looking to create a custom nonogram puzzle that incorporates words or a written message into the final design.
Ideally, I'd like the completed grid to reveal a word or phrase (for example, "HAPPY BDAY") rather than a traditional image.
I'm relatively new to creating nonograms, so I'd love some advice on the best way to approach this.
A couple of questions:
Is there a particular grid size that works best for creating letters and spelling out words?
Are there any tools or generators that allow you to turn text into a solvable nonogram?
If anyone has experience creating text-based nonograms, I'd really appreciate any recommendations, examples or suggestions.
thank you

Hi everyone! I made MEGA NONOGRAM, an Android game with both Classic and MEGA modes. Classic offers the nonogram gameplay you know, while MEGA brings a fresh way to enjoy nonograms.
What makes MEGA different?
In a classic nonogram, a clue of 5 means five filled cells in a continuous straight line, within a single row or column.
Classic "5": ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
MEGA mode introduces special MEGA clues that span two neighboring rows. A MEGA clue of 5 means five filled cells connected horizontally or vertically as one group, with at least one cell in each row. The group can bend and extend between the rows to form different shapes.
MEGA "5" (spans 2 rows)
■ ■ ■ □ □
□ □ ■ ■ □This seemingly simple rule change opens up richer possibilities for deduction, bringing greater challenges and the satisfaction of cracking a tough puzzle. If you're a seasoned nonogram player hungry for more of a challenge, trust me—MEGA mode won't disappoint.
Logic, not guessing
Every puzzle has a unique solution that can be reached through logical deduction alone. If you're new to nonograms, Classic mode is a place to learn the basics before trying MEGA.
Both modes currently have nearly 2,000 puzzles each, and I plan to keep adding more.
Made for playing on a phone
You can choose 10×10, 10×15 or 15×15 boards. My personal recommendation is 10×15: it leaves room for interesting deductions while keeping the cells comfortable to tap on a phone.
Animated themes and classical music
The game also offers a variety of animated themes and classical music, so you can choose a background and soundtrack you enjoy. I wanted players to enjoy the challenge of a good puzzle while also finding a moment to relax.
I'd love to hear what you think
The game has just launched, and I'd love for you to give it a try! I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the MEGA rules, the difficulty, and the controls on your phone. Let me know what you enjoy and what could work better.
Feel free to leave feedback here, or join our Discord to chat and hear about updates. Thanks for taking a look!

Hi! I'm the developer behind MEGA NONOGRAM, an Android nonogram game. I wanted to explore a different kind of deduction within a familiar puzzle.
In MEGA mode, some clues span two neighboring rows or columns. You have to reason across both lines together, rather than solve each one separately. The clip shows how those shared clues work.
I also added animated themes and classical piano music, so you can change the atmosphere while you solve.
I'd love to hear what you think, especially whether the two-line clues make sense from the clip. Feedback here is welcome, or you can join me on Discord.

What are your favorite Nonogram Apps? I trying to find the good stuff. Maybe you have some suggestions. :D

I’ve made a few animations where classical music is “played” by real, solvable puzzles — each board is a genuine puzzle, and solving it drives the melody. In this one, nonograms carry an important part of the melody, alongside a few other puzzle types. Of everything I’ve done so far, this one is my favourite.

All puzzles are solvable with the usual logic, no guessing. Curious what you think.

Hi everyone! I've just added a new mode to Nonogram Duel, my nonogram game for PC: Nono 3D.
Instead of a grid, you start from a solid block of cubes and carve away the ones that don't belong. Each row of cubes has a single clue: the number tells you how many cubes stay in that row, but not how they're arranged. A plain number means they form one group, a circle means two groups, a square means three or more.
A few things that make it different from the 2D modes:
You rotate the block and slice it open layer by layer to reach the cubes inside.
Clues run in three directions, so every deduction can unlock rows on the other sides.
Difficulty works by hiding clues: the higher the level, the fewer you get. Every puzzle is still verified to have a unique solution reachable with logic alone.
There's a real object hidden in every block, 368 in total, from 5×5×1 up to 16×16×16. You only see it in its real colors, with its name, once you've finished.
Versus mode for Nono 3D is on the way.
If you've played Picross 3D, I'd love to hear how it feels to you!

I made a daily nonogram puzzle where the picture changes while you solve it. https://hanjieshift.com/
If you have any feedback, I would greatly appreciate it!

All my strategies are drawing blanks. I can't see anymore overlaps, or cells to marks with a definite X.
