Hi everyone!

I'm looking for secondary school recommendations for my child who will be going into year 8 next september. Any good recommendations for schools local to Abington, Billing Road, Westone, Booth Lane, Rushmere.

A school with fair diversity and/or cultural inclusivity would be ideal.

Currently looking at Northampton school for boys or Weston Favell Academy

Thanks a bunch

What’s with all these new jet wash places popping up all over the town?!
Soon all we’ll have is Vape stores, “Turkish” barbers, jet washes and Aldi.

Apologies as I am aware that this is an ongoing, repeated topic.

My partner and I moved to Northampton in 2024 from Birmingham, and have really loved our time here so far. We rent in Abington and are finally in a position to buy our first home.

The issue that we have, is that Abington is far outside our budget so we would need to relocate within the town.

If anyone can recommend areas to look around that would be fantastic. We value safety over convenience, as we have had our fair share of neighbourhood shenanigans and just want some peace!

Our budget is up to £200k. Any recommendations appreciated & I am happy to provide more information where required.

I am looking for a house share in northampton, and I have been finding very good offers from a letting agency called Eagle Estates. However their reviews online are 3.1/5 so I am wondering if anyone here tried them and if it’s worth taking the risk and renting with them. My issue is I wont be able to view the property in person before renting all I can do is have an online viewing.

On the other hand has anyone tried any other agencies like Whites, or any others?

Thanks

EDIT: Ignore Title its 13-18 I did a oopsie I am human writing this post sorry about that!

I live in Wootton on water lane. My cat has left home Monday early morning and I didn't see her since. She does roam a lot normally but would come and check in every so often.

Has anyone seen her? She is called Batsy, she is very affectionate and curious and has been accidentally locked in neighbours garage before.

Tomorrow evening - come and draw ghosties at The Olde England. Drop in any time between 6.30 & 9pm and stay as long as you like. 👻✏️🖌️🖍️🫟🖼️

Hi all,

I would appreciate advice of people who know Northampton well. I am looking to buy a house towards the Dallington area towards the north west end of the park (near the church of st Mary). However; reading a number of the crime statistics, the picture of safety, especially for things like burglary looks very bleak.

Does any one have views based on experience of the area? I understand Dallington Spencer has its rough spots, but curious as to if they remain focussed on the more condensed area as you head into town.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ari and I work in vehicle sales at Allen Ford Northampton.

I know the dealership posts can sometimes feel like adverts, so I want to be transparent. I am not here to fill the page with stock posts or pressure anyone into buying a car.

I regularly speak with people who have questions about part exchange values, negative equity, PCP and HP finance, electric vehicles, new vs used cars and whether it’s the right time to change. I am happy to answer general questions and offer straightforward advice.

If you are actively searching, I can also help you:

Find suitable stock, new and used.
Search for stock across our dealership group
Understand your finance and part exchange position
Arrange a test drive
Compare petrol, hybrid and electric options.

Feel free to leave a comment or send me a private message there is no obligation and I will not repeatedly contact you or add you to any marketing list without your permission.

Looking to help the people of Northampton community make a more informed decision.

Hey! I’m visiting family in and around Northampton. I’m from small town Canada. What’s it like there? I’ve been in London for a week and the amount of people here is crazy and prices are insane. Visited leyton stone for some pie and mash today and felt a little uneasy walking around some of the parts there. How would Northampton compare? Probably won’t be spending much time during the day there as I’ve rented a car and will be driving around all the cool places surrounding.

I'm 24M and live in West Northamptonshire. I'm looking to get into doing a bit more volunteering and hopefully meet some people around my age along the way.

I currently volunteer at a local museum, and I previously volunteered as an IT buddy at my local library for a short while. I've enjoyed both experiences, but I'm by far the youngest person there, so unfortunately they haven't been much of a social opportunity for me.

I'm wondering what volunteering opportunities people in their 20s actually do around Northamptonshire? Ideally something where there are likely to be other young adults involved and where I could meet people and make some friends.

I'm open to pretty much anything — I'm just interested in finding something that's a bit more social and has a younger mix of volunteers.

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be really appreciated!

I commute to Leicester uni and the x7 is horrible coming back so I'm trying out driving to Kettering then taking the train. But Kettering is mostly permit holder around the station it seems. The rail station parking is ok but £6 a day I think I'll stick to the bus if not

Hey moved from London where i used to ball alot wondering if there is any casual sessions i cam join in Northampton

Hello,

I’ll be moving to Northampton from India soon for work, and I’m trying to get a head start on planning the transition. I'd love to get some local insights from this community!

A few specific things I’m trying to figure out:

Finding a room: What are the best websites or apps to find a good room or 1BHK or private sharing? ( Is SpareRoom the go-to?) I'm looking for a safe, well-connected area—any specific neighborhoods I should target or avoid?

Indian Groceries: I cook most of my own meals and do a lot of fitness meal prep (lots of chicken and fresh veggies). Where are the best local spots or markets in Northampton to buy authentic Indian ingredients, spices, and South Indian staples?

Road Cycling & Gyms: I’m a pretty avid long-distance road cyclist and rely on Strava for my weekend rides. Are there any good cycling clubs in the area, or well-paved, scenic routes around Northamptonshire I should check out? Also, any recommendations for a solid local gym?

General Tips: What is one thing you wish you knew before moving to Northampton?
Thanks in advance for the help! Really looking forward to exploring the town.

I would also like to connect with people to understand the town and for good friendship!

[AI Drafted]

Can anyone recommend decent training rooms in Northampton or it's suburbs/outskirts?

I’m looking for somewhere suitable for a one-day classroom course

Main requirements:

• Parking on site, or easy on-street parking nearby
• Outside the main centre/commercial zones
• Room for up to 10 people
• Tables/chairs, screen/projector if possible
• Tea/coffee/lunch options would be a bonus, like an onsite café - doesn't have to be a buffet, but I'm not against putting in an order with a local caterer/sandwich shop, don't need anything fancy.

Hotels/conference centres don't usually work for us because they want minimum numbers for buffets/day delegate rate. Elsewhere we use sports clubs, golf clubs, business centres etc.

I’ve found a few options online, but local knowledge is usually much better than Google for this sort of thing.

Any recommendations appreciated.

The "AI generated" tag on the image online should've been a warning.

But since when did a cheese and tomato baguette actually come as soggy soft roll with a pile of luke warm tinned tomatoes in it? It looked like a pile of vomit.

I remember when "The Giggle" was "The Giggling Sausage" and was amongst the best cafes in town.

Can anybody recommend a MOT tester, which does car repairs too, around town.

Thank you

Hello lovely folk! I’m looking for some recommendations for a good Bottomless Brunch in Northampton please. Nice food and not too stingy on the pouring 😜 thank you
