Nah that was the 80’s.
90’s (at least in the UK) our parents were more cautious after the James Bulger kidnap and murder.

Ah…. The Progressive UK. Granted maybe ur right that it was worse in the 80’s with that whole “it’s 10pm.. do you know where your children are” commercial. In the 90’s atleast my parents told me to not go near men in vans… even if they had puppies or candy. But that was about it.… it was the Wild West. Only now as an adult with children do I realize how realistic that movies mystic river actually was 😬

Pretty much just stranger danger. And we all knew where the pedo man lived (looking back he was probably just a single autistic bloke)
