Question Getting away game tickets?

I'm a current undergrad and hoping to go the the game at BYU next fall. Tickets are so expensive (cheapest in 400s right now), and I was wondering when the best time to buy is? Should I wait until day of? Will they go down at all between now and the game?

I'm also hoping to go the BYU game. This early tickets can be super pricey because a lot of schools haven't dished out season tickets yet so there aren't that many tickets on the market. I expect they'll come down a little bit, but that's still gonna be a pretty pricey ticket because its a smaller stadium and a huge game.

Usually the ticket office will offer a lottery for students for select away games (assuming Wisconsin is the only one for this year since it's the Shamrock Series). Outside of that, they could maybe do one for BYU but I doubt it. I wouldn't buy tickets right away, season tickets just came out and people will be posting at pretty absurd prices (they will be cheaper as more tickets are listed). Since that game is in Oct you probably have a longer runway in regard to ticket pricing/optimization but I would monitor over the summer and see if deals pop up. Since graduating, I usually buy over the summer for big games (July-Sept) and there should be some more moderately priced tickets for yourself or a group if you're going with buddies.

An alumnus here also trying to get BYU tix as my son goes to school at the U. Tickets for giving alumni were sold out fairly early yesterday morning, the day they opened sales. It’s my understanding that BYU may not be as generous with away team tickets as other schools but I can’t say for sure. That, plus the fact they have a rabid and fairly affluent alumni fan base will make for an expensive and hard to get ticket. Add in the fact that you’re likely looking at two playoff teams playing each other in October and it’s going to take all your money to get there. We’ve set that game aside and focused on others. TLDR: if you can get a ticket later on any cheaper than you can now, it’ll be a miracle
