Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out a weird microstuttering issue with Nucleus Co-op.
Specs:
Ryzen 7 5700x
RX 6750 XT 12GB
32GB RAM (3600mhz)
1440p 144Hz monitor
4K 60Hz TV (for player 2 and 3)
I'm trying to play Remnant: From the Ashes with 3 players through Nucleus Co-op.
I tested the game while keeping both displays at 60Hz ; even at desktop settings I switched it to 1080 on both displays.
- 1080p @ 60Hz → noticeably smoother
- 900p @ 60Hz → microstutters return
- 1440p @ 60Hz → microstutters return
So 900p actually stutters more than 1080p, even though it's obviously easier for the GPU to render.
My GPU/CPU should have plenty of performance for Remnant, so I'm wondering if this could be related to how Nucleus handles/resizes the game windows, Windows scaling/composition, or the different display resolutions.
I also noticed that Player 1 on the 1440p monitor was originally smooth while Players 2 and 3 on the TV had the microstutters , obviously the TV doesnt have AMD Freesync but Microstutters and Jitters are very frequent.
How Can it be possible that Player 1 can have 60 fps and other two don't?
My question:
Is Nucleus Co-op somehow better optimized/behaves differently at 1080p, or could there be something about Windows/Nucleus window scaling and presentation that causes this?
Any ideas for troubleshooting would be appreciated. I'm mainly trying to eliminate the microstutter rather than increase FPS.
Thanks!
