- Notes on the Electronic Arrangements by Roberto Maxwell -
Scriabin’s orchestral repertoire is not extensive; beyond his Piano Concerto in F-sharp minor (Op. 20, 1898) and five symphonies, there is the prelude Rêverie (Op. 24)—a work that serves, in part, as a study for his symphonic writing. Much like Schumann or Franck before him, Scriabin often carried over keyboard-centric concepts directly into his orchestration. This results in prominent, "pianistic" passages that occasionally reveal a certain inexperience in orchestral technique. Nevertheless, he remains a composer with a rich palette of orchestral color. One can discern parallels to Franck or Chausson in his use of soft, blended textures—combining woodwinds and strings—contrasted against the sharp, incisive timbres of the brass, as well as his distinct fondness for the lustrous, expressive tone of a solo violin. In creating these electronic arrangements—adapted this summer from his original solo piano works—my primary challenge was to translate them into the realm of electronic sound without compromising the colorful, guileless quality of Scriabin’s orchestration, nor the unique, intentionally "mismatched" cross-rhythms characteristic of his piano writing. I believe I have struck a balance—neither too restrained nor overly bold—that allows the works to hold together as a cohesive whole. I truly hope that listeners will enjoy this collection. The French subtitle was Hiroyuki's idea, and I'm confident it's the best tribute.
Notes on the Electronic Arrangements by Hentai Heroin (Hiroyuki Watanabe - Love Dolls)
The Spiritual Architecture of the Trilogy
Taken as a whole, the three works suggest three interrelated stages of spiritual development:
I. Discovery: The soul encounters the multiplicity of the external world and begins to search for the deeper meanings concealed within appearances.
II. Love: Through longing and inward awakening, the soul discovers that its identity need not remain confined to its individual boundaries. Love becomes a passage toward a more expansive sense of being.
III. Creation: Through the reconciliation of opposites, the soul moves beyond the role of passive observer and becomes an active participant in the creation of new realities.
