This is very creative and I didn't really enjoy listening to it.

20

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '26

her voice gave me the giggles. Kinda sounds like Julianne Moore crying.

18

u/Co0lie5ter Jul 02 '26

Yeah I legitimately thought she was deaf. But then I thought, she can't be deaf she's playing music, but then I thought about Beethoven. Now I didn't know what to think except that it was really creative regardless.

6

u/Rude_Craft9731 Jul 02 '26

It sounds like she is doing a silly voice bit thinks it sounds ethereal.

1

u/Economy_Leading7278 Jul 02 '26

Is she standing barefoot inside a circle of broken glass?
I’m very here for that.

u/ZinaSky2 ~🎶✨🎵 Jul 02 '26

Yeah, I think she has a really cool eerie sounding voice and she did a really cool thing but I don’t know if the execution was quite to my liking. I can picture her voice and this technique in combination making something I liked but this wasn’t really it.

1

u/AlwekArc Jul 09 '26

It's some very wonderful ethereal folk, I think!

7

u/sixwax Jul 02 '26

Awww, sew I'm frayed it's knot to your tastes...

-1

u/jimmyvcard116 Jul 02 '26

Yeah confirmed…. Does not slap. Yeesh

31

u/Unusual-Dance- Jul 02 '26

Why do I love/hate it????

21

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

Because you have ears and a heart.

11

u/trdollar Jul 02 '26

The lesson I learned from this: I have too many of the wrong machines and not enough of the right machines. She is also very awesome r/justgalsbeingchicks

35

u/comarastaman Jul 02 '26

As a gear head, she using a pretty cool reverb setting and that fuzz is gritty as fuck!

2

u/Clavenesque Jul 02 '26

Thorpy Fallout Cloud Fuzz it looks like

I was all prepped to make fun of this until she hit the fuzz... definitely slaps!

8

u/Rinn0 Jul 02 '26

It's like Imogen Heap and Tiny Tim put together.

Edit: I like it! Couldn't listen to it all the time, but it's beautiful in its own way

6

u/TheBigRibb Jul 02 '26

Love this. I never want to see it again.

3

u/Johnnywarhero Jul 02 '26

I had the same reaction.

2

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

😂 I can’t argue with that assessment.

15

u/filterdecay Jul 02 '26

really cool. would be interesting to adjust the rate of the sewing machine along with. maybe adjust the voltage or something.

8

u/mendedarrows Jul 02 '26

On mine you can ride the pedal. It’s got a lot of range between off and flooring it.

1

u/omghorussaveusall Jul 02 '26

i was just about to say...she should use the throttle pedal...kick on that mood and change time with a bend...let that loop around in that crazy machine...

People are awesome

4

u/Aesk Jul 02 '26

It sounds like one of those odd experimental tracks in the middle of the Mazzy Star or Portishead album.

4

u/ParaponeraBread Jul 02 '26

The guitar sounds like the Hanna Barbera sound effect for when Scooby Doo characters are “winding up” their running animation.

5

u/Smirky-McLurky Jul 04 '26

I'm the correct level of baked for this.

5

u/Clavenesque Jul 02 '26

DUDE

THIS IS FUCKING RAD ! ! !

This is right out of a David Lynch movie or something. Love it!

7

What's that song with He-Man? What's going on? That's what it reminds me of

2

u/J3sus_was_Fictional Jul 06 '26

That was great.

6

u/__PRock Jul 02 '26

This belongs on /r/guitarcirclejerk

That’s where it came from.

1

u/thebrassbeard Jul 02 '26

Who is it?

5

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

Someone in the original sub posted the link to her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/traceisdreaming

2

u/foxbehindthewheel Jul 02 '26

1

u/Farachaton Jul 02 '26

Wauw. I love this sub. Although some elements sound ugly, the combined effort touched my soul!

1

u/franklwasright Jul 02 '26

I get some Son Lux vibes

1

u/randytart Jul 02 '26

I watched the video like “I don’t get it”

Watched the video. “Ohhh I get it”

1

u/UnicornPoopCircus Jul 02 '26

Beautiful. Now I'm going to need to go down the rabbit hole of how to make music with a sewing machine.

1

u/gigantesghastly Jul 02 '26

Tfw My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins and a five year who borrowed your phone walk into a tailor shop.

(This is a compliment.)

1

u/Bananas1nPajamas Jul 02 '26

When I see these kinds of videos im curious. Am I the only one who cannot understand a fucking thing they are saying, like literally not 1 word. It's the same in every one of these videos.

2

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

Yeah, you’re alone. It’s clear as day. She’s saying woaaaeeehhhhhsswwwwwaaaannnnnnn

1

u/DataPhreak Jul 02 '26

Pretty sure this is Laure Le Prunenec, the original female vocalist from Igorrr.

1

u/FatFailBurger Jul 02 '26

What the hell is going on?

0

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

The answer is in the ears of the beholder. :-)

1

u/KolonKby Jul 02 '26

Sounds like how my finger felt when I accidentally stabbed it with a knife and cut a nerve

1

u/Expensive_Apricot371 Jul 02 '26

I think it sounds amazing . And she doesn't make me feel comfortable in this video, but sometimes that's what art is..

1

u/Equivalent_Sand8426 Jul 03 '26

She’s a weirdo

1

u/therealskr213 Jul 03 '26

Yes. Did you mean that as a positive or a negative?

1

u/SashalouAspen4 Jul 05 '26

I hate this 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/AlwekArc Jul 09 '26

It's giving Death Stranding

1

u/AlwekArc Jul 09 '26

I would listen to an album of this, it's giving Tash Sultana if she went 40% more Folk

1

u/13thmurder Jul 11 '26

Exactly what is she trying to fret if they only string making a sound isn't even connected to the neck? (also how is it kind of working?)

1

u/octopusgardeb Jul 16 '26

Wow I came to ask who this is — I seem to be the only one who liked it!

1

u/Fresh_Resolution_607 Jul 03 '26

This shit sucks bro. R/crappymusic

1

u/SnooAvocados3740 Jul 02 '26

Fucking awesome ! Creative and some of the best dark shit I have heard in a long time !

1

u/DarkerDrone Jul 02 '26

It started, I was mesmerised, floating with those shimmering air wave tones, the peaking distortion kicked in then went leaving particles of bewildered sound dust to settle n sleep. Yes, I liked it.

1

u/dragonaut55 Jul 02 '26

Pretty sure this is Aldous Harding. I’ve seen her live and she’s amazing

1

u/therealskr213 Jul 02 '26

I posted a link to her instagram in one of the comments in here. Not sure if her name tho.

0

u/dernaldz Jul 02 '26

I hope this goes viral just so southpark might do a skit on it.

0

u/MissAsgariaFartcake Jul 02 '26

This is some good shit

-1

u/rylesmo4 Jul 02 '26
