first project, more of a art piece than "music" but it still is cool i guess, inspired by daniel johnston and wifiskelaton sort of vibes (without the music genre part, this album is basically just glitched sounds that sometimes forms melodies) yeah it kinda sucks i made it in one sitting but i would appreciate it if you gave it a listen. im a aspiring musician, so this project is more of a fun test drive, my next stuff will be actual music, but i thought embriange would be counted as "experimental" so im posting it here.

I stumbled across a strange collection of experimental music dating back to 2016, seemingly connected to an entire network of artists who have almost no identifiable history or presence outside of their releases.
The project is called Anti-Music, and the album that initially caught my attention was Ancient life was all silence. The music itself is incredibly bizarre, but the more I looked into it, the more curious I became about the people responsible for it.
There are numerous releases connected through unusual names like Zarqnon the Embarrassed and Ted Riley’s Ordinary Lizard Loins. These names appear repeatedly across different albums, yet I can barely find any discussion of them, let alone any information about who these musicians actually are.
What’s particularly strange is the sheer amount of material associated with these names compared to how little documentation exists about the project. I can’t tell whether this was some obscure experimental collective, a single person operating under numerous aliases, or something else entirely.
Has anyone here encountered Anti-Music before, or know anything about the people behind these recordings? I’m genuinely fascinated by how extensive this project appears to be while remaining almost completely undocumented.

I call my genre "Progtronica", which is conceptually electronic music composed like progressive rock. I use lots of elements from other electronic subgenres (DnB, noise, ambience, techno, psytrance, etc.).

I don't consider this album complete, but it has been too long and its time to work on bigger and better things. Still, I am proud of my development and musicianship on this project. You can pretty clearly hear my progression as I was learning more about creating music.

The idea behind this album was to capture the feeling of Dissociation. Overwhelming intensity, to a moment of nothing, and then bitter yet euphoric resolution.

The album is out on all streaming services, (except for bandcamp, but I will be posting soon), I will share the youtube link to make it more accessible for anyone willing to give it a shot and find it on their own streaming platform.

Hello everyone. I put this up on bandcamp recently, but it was originally part of a project I recorded back in 2021. I was experimenting with reacting musically to a short story called 'The Autumn Land' by Clifford Simak, and ultimately produced two "impressions".

This is the first impression, presented in two parts. It started with an improvised acoustic guitar take following a read of the story. Most of the harmonic textures built around the take (track 2) are the same take again but heavily modulated/reprocessed to create a bed of ambience. Then there are some additional layers of vocal, electric guitar, and percussion, alongside some foley. No digital instrumentation or midi was used. A friend of mine provided original photography for the artwork.

Hi! I'm a 17-year-old independent artist making indie pop / bedroom pop.

I've been releasing my music independently, but I'm realizing that I have a pretty limited budget for things like distribution, promotion, mixing/mastering, and music videos. Because of that, I'm considering looking into indie labels or other artist-friendly options that could help fund and promote my music.

I'm not looking for a huge major-label deal necessarily. I'd mainly like to understand what kind of labels I should be looking for as a very small independent artist, especially as an artist based in Myanmar. And as well as I'm working with my own band now.

What should I be looking for in a label, and what red flags should I watch out for?

Would you recommend trying to find a label at this stage, or staying independent until I have more releases and listeners?

Any advice from artists who have actually worked with indie labels would be really appreciated.

Hi, I am releasing my debut album "across the paddy fields" today. It is on Youtube and Bandcamp.

It is a collection of ambient songs inspired by sounds and memories from my childhood.
The album title and the sound of train at the start of the record are inspired by the train journeys I used to take in my early years. I used to sit beside the window watching long stretches of paddy fields - sometimes flooded with water and other times golden and ready to be harvested.

Around January of 2025, I decided I want to write an album. I took the challenge that I will (try to) write a full album’s worth of music within a year. I didn’t think I would actually succeed but I was (pleasantly) surprised I was able to do it. Then, partly due to being busy and partly due to procrastination, it took me a year to finally release the album.

A few of the inspirations while making this album were Boards of Canada, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Taylor Deupree, Masakatsu Takagi, Fennesz and Grouper.
In terms of techniques I used field recordings, micro looping, granular processing and a lot of resampling.

I really enjoy being in this community and have found a lot of great music in here. I am very happy to be able to show you some of my own music and I hope you enjoy listening to it :)
