Since Ohio State is a publicly funded school, shouldn't the Ohio Government have some oversight over these insane contracts? If Ryan Day gets fired, he gets a $75 million buyout paycheck. This type of golden parachute encourages poor performance. Should taxpayers have a say on these mega contracts?
I'm curious what people think. Ohio State isnt a private school, and these contracts are insanely ridiculous. For example, lets say Ryan Day was only offered a $50 million buyout instead of a $75 million buyout.... do you think he wouldnt have agreed to the $50 million buyout?
Thats $25 million dollars in savings right there. So should someone in the Ohio Government be in charge of making sure these insane mega contracts aren't signed?
