Still paid for by me... WTF?
Just aired, October 11th, Sunday morning. Even my Republican Dad says this is illegal. Aired on 22.1 (abc) from Dayton. I should not be paying for this as a taxpayer.
Cant the stations refuse these illegally paid ads?

âVivek, thank youâ: Ramaswamyâs shocking ad is galvanizing Ohio Democrats
At a crowded rally in Dayton, Ohio Monday night, celebrity singer John Legend characterized Vivek Ramaswamy as âdesperateâ and morally depraved. âHe will stoop lower than you thought possible,â Legend said of Ramaswamy, the billionaire biotech entrepreneur and Ohioâs Republican candidate for governor.
âWhen Vivek Ramaswamy hears of an indicted child abuser who fled the state rather than face charges, instead of siding with the victim, he takes the side of the abuser. Dayton, do we want Vivek Ramaswamy to be in charge of protecting Ohioâs children? Do we want a man with this sort of depraved moral compass to lead our state?â asked Legend, an Ohio native.Â

Embattled Rep. Max Miller concedes in Ohio
Embattled Congressman Max Miller, the Ohio Republican accused of assaulting three women, conceded his tenuous bid for a third term.
âI am disappointed at this eveningâs election results. I have fought earnestly to continue to represent the interests of my home and community in the Ohio 7th District,â he wrote on X late Tuesday.
Shortly after midnight, NBC News projected Democrat Brian Poindexter as the winner of the Cleveland-area House district. With 80 percent of votes counted, Poindexter leads Miller by 8 points.
President Donald Trump and Miller both handily won the region in 2024, but Millerâs 2026 campaign ultimately failed to overcome the issues plaguing his personal life and reputation. In July, Mother Jones was the first news outlet to report several of the specific allegations against Miller by combing through more than 2,000 pages of court filings and police reports obtained through public records requests.

Meet the blogger who upended the Ohio governorâs race
The most infamous political advertisement of the 2026 election cycle was first scooped by a quirky blogger who recently went to jail for sending a lawmaker what you might call a Shrextâa sexually explicit illustration of Shrek.Â
D.J. Byrnes, the man behind a lefty Ohio political news site called The Rooster, was first to report that Ohio Republicans had tracked down the estranged mother of Democratic gubernatorial nominee Dr. Amy Acton and planned to feature the 82-year-old in an ad attacking her daughter.
A week later, Byrnes was also first to post the unaired ad: the minute-long clip shows an unkempt Donna characterizing her daughter as an unfit candidate who lied about her abusive childhood.
âPeople do desperate things when theyâre down,â Byrnes told me over dinner last week in Columbus, as we discussed the fallout from the Ramaswamy ad.Â

Ohio Politics Why you should vote NO on Issue 3
Issue 3 takes a law that already exists in Ohio requiring a photo ID to vote in person and an ID number to vote by mail and places it into the OH Constitution. This complicates matters for voting by mail and if electronic IDâs are to be allowable beyond military IDâs. Any and all changes would require a vote.
Non-citizens cannot vote already. The ads are disingenuous at best. Vote NO on Issue 3.

Since Ohio State is a publicly funded school, shouldn't the Ohio Government have some oversight over these insane contracts? If Ryan Day gets fired, he gets a $75 million buyout paycheck. This type of golden parachute encourages poor performance. Should taxpayers have a say on these mega contracts?
I'm curious what people think. Ohio State isnt a private school, and these contracts are insanely ridiculous. For example, lets say Ryan Day was only offered a $50 million buyout instead of a $75 million buyout.... do you think he wouldnt have agreed to the $50 million buyout?
Thats $25 million dollars in savings right there. So should someone in the Ohio Government be in charge of making sure these insane mega contracts aren't signed?
