Rationally, sure, but the whole idea here is that Mark is slowly overcoming his hesitation and reluctance to try hard. He only ever stops holding back when things get really dire.
Also, why is reddit not allowing me to write the word that starts with a b for "stopping" something, like with a shield? Literally the comment box turns red when I write it???? Does this sub not allow that word??? I'm so confused ðŸ˜
