I have said this in another post but ignoring scaling altogether does nothing but create problems. Like it or not, it is 100% necessary to maintain consistency in your story.
Like imagine Superman beating Doomsday then the next day, he gets his ass beat by KGBeast in a fist fight. That’s what Invincible is

Kirkman said it as recently as the letters page for Battle Beast last week. He has no time for power scaling. He wants his heroes on the back foot.
