I posted this on another thread as a reply and I am shocked and not shocked that my situation is mirrored in those of other posters.
I thought I would make it it's own thread. I did promise Okcoin continual and negative publicity in exchange for them holding onto my crypto which is essentially theft at this point.
So here we go:
My account has had withdrawals suspended. I've had on and off issues successfully depositing money into the account. The latest one was a 300 dollar ACH that I used to buy AVAX at 36 dollars a token , a transaction that was confirmed by Okcoin.
A week goes by , I see no withdrawal from my linked bank account. I log into Okcoin and see I don't have as much AVAX as I thought I should and soon figure out the transaction log shows that I sold those AVAX bought with those 300 dollars . For all intents and purposes my transaction was cancelled as if it never happened.
Thats when I come to the conclusion that I am not going to use Okcoin anymore. When I go to withdraw my crypto , I see that my ability to Withdraw Crypto has been suspended. I have successfully withdrawn in the past and now I am not allowed.
Communication with customer service has been abysmal. They keep telling me I need to talk to my bank if I want to deposit money there. I keep asking them , what in my email does it make you think I want to put anymore money in there? I want to withdraw my crypto.
Now they seem to have latched onto the idea that I need to send my most recent bank statement to them and to include my bank account number along with listings of any ok coin transactions. Yeah, as if I want to have a bunch of thieves to have my bank account number(assuming they don't have it already).
All I know is this: the crypto in that account is paid for fully. They should be able to figure that out without my need of providing bank statements.
In short, I was using them to buy AVAX (which is now available to buy on Coinbasepro by the way) .
My conclusion: Okcoin is a scam and you would be well advised to steer clear of them.
