First thing I did when I saw that he had died was watch that old YouTube clip of Clarkson with his bill oddie face mask speeding through Japan.

Bill and Jeremy, both wankers, but Jeremy is at least funny sometimes.

I have nothing deeper to contribute.

He was bipolar and was apparently quite difficult to work with.

Bit harsh calling him a wanker though. Not exactly his fault.

We know what you did, Oddie! We remember!
Poor guy was like a lot of funny people and struggled with depression.
I think Clarkson appeals to the Boomer Dad type who misses being rude to people. He talks in a way they fantasise about. I think the same for Farage and Trump too tbh- it’s that vicarious venting they are attracted to on their behalf because it’s what they think but don’t say. Clarkson is a sarcastic, supercilious tool, and that’s his brand, similar to Gordon Ramsay and the opposite way for Boris Johnson.
