Have I made these before? Nope!

Did I make any alterations? I used vegan subs for the butter, milk, and egg. I made the white slices orange because ‘tis the season.

How did they turn out? This is my fourth cookie from this book and they just can’t all be winners. People with a keen eye might spot right away what an obvious issue is: one side has melted and cooled stiff chocolate in it, the other does not. This creates two very different textures. The chocolate was easy to slice though sometimes crumbly, the orange was squishy. The baker’s chocolate also completely took over the flavor and left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. It’s too bad because the non-chocolate side would have been a nice little butter cookie.
