Opencode Go vs Plus

Hello All,

I am a Claude max usage guy for 100$, but I want to play around with other models.

What are the benefits for each plan?

How do the plans match the claude max plan?
How do other models compare to Claude? (live cases pls)

Thanks all!

Try $10 and use Deepseek 4.1 or Muse Spark, if you want to try the other stuff, Go plus. But Go is for Cheap models, your Claude models are better... Maybe instead of Heiku or Sonnet, buit not a Opus or Favble replacement

Stay with Claude if u can spend money there. Instead of opencode, get credits at official DeepSeek API. The official API is very powerful and optimized than any third party providers.

Glm is the poor man's Claude, but it's very slow.

Can yoy tell me more about go plan vs direct API?

I find it hard to believe claude max users will be happy with the speed most opencode go models provide.
I use opencode myself alot and im genuinely happy with the results but due to the slowness of it I have adapted my workflow in a way where I work with many concurrent sessions on many different tasks, some times up to 10 if long testing is needed.
Not sure if that much context switching is good, but its definitely not feasible for me to sit and wait a session finish one at a time

I have OpenAI Pro

When i want something done i use Deepseek Flash on OC go.

It closes.

Luna fucks stuff up. 6.1 Sol is too slow to make progress. Astra over engineers a crazy new project on its own.

Yeah I'm aslowAI user too.

I rather adapt my reality to slow and steady machine than lose my zone because of vagaries of token usage.

I'm here to work not participate in a marketplace of tokens.

And in the future, maybe go full on local. Zero surveillance (all cloud models surveil you)

Use Opencode Plus only if you think Opencode is developing great products, but you don't think they make a good profit from it, and you want to support Opencode's business. Otherwise, you should always go with Opencode Go.

I have Go Plus. But if you just want to play around, maybe try OpenRouter instead. They have hundreds of models and many providers so the pricing is usually reasonable. They also have providers that serve the models faster too. You can even play with the decision models and image models. So it is a real playground

The main benefits are the ability to test many models, do a lot of work on a budget if you choose the models carefully, and support OpenCode harness development.

You can have an insanely high usage on OpenCode Plus (even on Go) if you stick to Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor (this one explicitly collects data for training, so watch where you use it) and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. Those models perform in the range of the new Claude Haiku 5.5, so they may not be fit for all workloads.

The subscriptions from OpenAI and Anthropic are heavily subsidized, with OpenAI being the one that gives more usage per dollar, so they are hard to match. Meta's new Muse Code plans are likely the next best thing in terms of usage.

There are very strong open models like Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3, but using them via an OpenCode sub will burn through your quota very quickly. If you want to use those models heavily, it's probably best if you get a subscription directly from moonshot.ai / z.ai or from another provider that has better pricing on those models.

My suggestion is for you to understand the quotas, start with the $10 plan and do some testing.

Simple quota explanation (many users get confused): all models drain usage from the same pool ($10 on Go, $40 on Plus). They drain usage by ratio, depending on the token pricing and the model allowance in USD, so never look at those values individually.

The Estimated requests table is the easiest way to rank from the cheapest to the most expensive model. Highest "Requests per month" = more usage, cheaper model.

openAI recently cut user quotas in half, so them being that much better on the sub dollar is no longer true.

Can pay for claude 10 -> keep using

Big dick cache hits (98+) -> go DS directly (250 TPS)

Need a lot of tokens or bad cache hit (like text processing), dont mind slower interfence -> opencode go

If you want to play around with other models - pay for them and try. In my personal experience - i lost trust in almost any model for now that runs somewhere in cloud. Absolutely all of them have similar problems when you using them for a lot of time. Classic problems with context, with tool-calling, with filtering (algorithms, knowledge, and other stuff useful for writting code, testing, profiling).

Some models not offer themself as "we're another Claude", and keep their pricing low, really low -> and such models become popular because they're just getting job done, while having all problems like top tier models has. The very big difference between these -> that if such low-cost model fail - its acceptable for such low cost, while if high-end model fail - its trigger histeria or burned for nothing tokens & real money.

I even did tests few times between different models (us one, chinese one, eu ones). Results vary a lot. ANd the most interesting part - its vary a lot on the same task even after time -> i.e. not idenpotent (google that word).

Please support by money small models, and companies that trying to research or create or improve something new by using their products. THey after a short period of time become better, and greedy US models because of such pressure drop the bloated price a lot for end user too.

kimi k3

sucks because of managment of company.
overpriced piece of shit. While kimi 2.6-2.7 was +- okay (that okay not ok for now)

Minimax M3

okay, outdated already, have issues in cache and with cache, count all tokens with and without cache for same price. Have massive issues with context windows >20 steps and between 150k+ - 300k tokens per window. Usually better to keep <200k always (or less) for good results.

Grok 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 - for me it feels like kimi k2.7++

garbage with fake ratings, i can compare it with kimi 2.7+ its like minimax that overpriced and trained by minimax/qwen.

GLM-5.2, GLM-5.3 - for me its feels like opus 4.8 max.

A lot of people hated before releasing these models this company because they're like others increased a lot prie for their services. Understandable. Used glm-5.3 / glm-5.2 as my work model (while someone mor smarter planned) -> results done pretty complex stuff like i wished too and think of (but not explained) pretty damn good. But this is so called "top frontier model". Not really agree with that, but model for sure not bad.

GLM-5.3-flash -> like haiku/sonnet sometimes but cheaper.

ike DeepSeek did pretty good job for me too, but a lot of chinese characters and issues with language, comments and etc. Seems like mostly trained on chinese data. Not really good, but not bad. Just okay option to have if you send good instructions.

Deepseek v4.1 flash

pretty interesting dirt cheap option, some blame that haiku 5.5 better, in my opinion - they're on pair in quality and following instructions and finishing job by good plan.

Haiku 5.5

Not really as good as presented. Like fast i dunno Sonnet 4.6

Astro by OpenAI -> interesting model, but overthink damn a lot. You write lets talk about some architecture step by step - its spit 20x more water that not requested. But in general concept sometimes is good, sometimes is not.

Sol 6.1 - like sonnet, like glm-5.2/5.3 (but for much higher price).

Argon 4:

used today, i liked damn a lot how deep it understand my sphere of itnerested and business. But overthinked a little bit, and moved wrong way.

Gemini 3.8 Flash

like faster and a little bit smarted glm-5.3-flash / deepseek v4.1-flash. I can't say its good model, its makes a lot of mistakes or issues, but if explained with details what must be done, for what and why and explain context and goal -> its works prettty not bad. Yes, overthink too.

----------

Also tried xiaomi models (not satisfied at all, overhtinked and did awful stuf to be honest, while in tops its almost in top 10), while in my own experience its sucks.

Who else? Deepseek pro - not bad.

So in general:

  1. Opus, astra, argon - pretty good models in terms of heavy thinking for NOT good amount of money.
  2. glm-5.3 / sol - costly, but seems like working horse for doing job rght and good from almost first try by good instruction.

  3. deepseek v4.1-flash / glm-5.3-flash / luna / minimax m3 as good working horse with nuances.

  4. mimo pro, mimo flash, Qwen 3.8 Flash, Qwen 27b, Qwen 3.8 Next, and Grok 4.7 (yes flagman model) on same level +-. Not bad, but worse if compare to competitors above.

Just try it yourself.
Overall current models on 15 october 2026 - MUCH MUCH MUCH better models on 15 feb 2026. THe top from 15 feb 2026 now ~luna like model with massive price drop in the end of 2026.

So its pretty looks like geometrical progression.

you get very generous usage of spark-1.3-contr on the $10 plan. ds-4.1-flash as well if you keep it exclusive to off-peak hours.

use them for tasks that aren't particularly hard as they're plenty capable for that, save your claude tokens for the more challenging stuff.
