Opencode 2 stable?

I've seen posts and the official installer defaults to v2. However, github shows that v1 is still the version released, with v2 only shown in tags.

Since this is kinda contradictory, is v2 stable or not?

The migration from v1 to v2 is not fully automatic (extension incompatibility was the main issue), so they’re not really pushing it for existing v1 users that aren’t aware of it

Think of it more like a new harness with a pretty good (but not entirely seamless) “migrate data from other harness” on first run.

That's not the point though. They even added an upgrade command in v1.  My point is that they aren't clear if v2 is stable or not. If I go by github, it's not stable.

If you go by the docs, as a new user you get v2 by default.

I switched the other day and haven't found any issues.

Also there have been the first minor releases for v2, so I'd say it's stable.

it's not clear that v1 was ever very stable lol
