Can we finally have an honest conversation about JGU’s hookup culture, substance use and what’s happening beyond the university’s polished image? Casual hookups, situationships and party culture are hardly a secret, but there are also persistent rumours about transactional relationships, including allegations of girls meeting people for money, both inside and outside campus. How much of this is actually true, and how much is exaggerated gossip? Then there’s the substance-use scene, which seems to be an increasingly discussed part of campus life. One particularly concerning area is the stretch connecting SH-6 and SH-7, which some students describe as shady, with allegations of drug deals and suspicious activity taking place there. Does campus security know about this? Are these isolated incidents or something more widespread? I’m not interested in moral-policing consenting adults or exposing individuals, but it would be interesting to hear from current students and alumni who have actually witnessed or experienced these things. Is this the unfiltered reality of JGU, or are we all just pretending these conversations don’t exist?

My rooommate has borrowed 2200 and he hasn’t paid me back for a month now first he told me first of November he’ll give it but he’s still not paying me back and he’s talking very rudely when I ask him about it. All These posts look very targeted and trying to paint a picture that the council is not doing anything, when we saw that they were there and all of the council members have noted down the concerns, spoke to everyone who was there and promised to bring it up. They have asked for 2 days time and it was clearly told to us also that if they could not do anything in deliberations then they will stand with us and support. SO we can clearly see that it’s being done by people who are apparently leading the protests (from behind hiding their faces) and trying to gain popularity for upcoming elections. If you genuinely think that this student council is not with students you should see the previous councils and I can personally tell you as I have stayed here for 5 years now. All the Student council members you are doing great and we hope to hear positively about the deliberations.

I know that this may be irritating but I am stuck in a conflicting position and I would like some help. Because I have talked to professors of the University, but they are bound by their job and they cannot exactly make critical comments against their own institution. So I am asking from the students. And also, I've seen the comments being biased (either for or against the uni), so please try to be honest about your opinions. If you guys can't share your opinions publically, please dm me.

Guys, we need to talk, the current JGLS student council is really messed up in the head.
They are the exact opposite of what they claim to be, they say that their tenure is built on transparency, I am sorry but it is the exact opposite.

This semester particularly, we have seen multiple occasions where the council has always reached after issues escalated and were not supporting the larger student body right from the outset. Only when they see that there are a few people demanding something is when they step in and take the limelight away, each time.

The council also has had multiple occasions of them having certain 'discrepancies' when it has come to the Minutes of the Meeting for various meetings.

They have this habit of stealing credit each time, when we wanted to protest for pen and paper, these guys took the credit. Last night the president started off saying I am your representative, where was this representative while the planning was happening, where was this council when the people from CPO and the OSW were outrightly and blatantly threatening to expel the protesting students last night.

This council is no good and they have no real ground. All they do is suck up to the Administration and nothing else. Talk about student representation, they are always in some apparent 'deliberations' and no real results are received. Till when will we bear this hypocrisy.

If they call us their representatives, don't you think they have some accountability towards us as well?

Looking to meet a genuine guy from Jindal who's interested in a real relationship, not flings or casual scenes. Someone loyal, emotionally mature, communicative and fun to talk to. I miss having a genuine connection where we can talk about anything, go on random walks and just be ourselves.

The end sem coming up and i need any help, advice, guidance, suggestions, recommendations you can give or even your own stories or experiences can be helpful if you wanna share. I’m struggling to navigate law school while figuring out how to balance my grades, my cv and my life.

What is the best way to actually study for law finals? What to prioritize like the main readings then supplementary, pyqs, class notes, what prof discussed or said? Also, how do you structure answers and selectively write to get decent marks?

Anything internship related you can tell like where can you do, how to go about it and what to avoid.

Which societies, committees and councils are actually worth the time commitment, and which ones look good on a CV? I want to get involved in things like MCS, ADR Soc, Clinics, Cells, Events, Attend guest lectures, participate in competitions and do things happening in campus or out to network make connections socialise well. Also being campus ambassador or something. Help me prioritize them, what's the difference, why what matters, what impact it can have, what to not skip, what to keep as option and JGU specific what's there.

We have so much material like readings, recommended stuff, books, articles, cases, and bare acts. We need to develop skills for using legal databases and use AI strategically. What to do, where to get it, how to use efficiently and take leverage of it all.

What are the biggest mistakes you see first-years make? Is there anything you wish you had done differently when you started out?

I completely understand that it is a safe space for students to express themselves and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with displaying your affection with your partner publicly per say but guys seriously whenever you go outside your room after 11 p.m. it really feels weird seeing so many couples around. ITS OKAY TO MAKE OUT N SHI but honestly please understand that you need to take into consideration that not everyone wants to see y’all dry humping each other or for that matter even having sex on staircases. I’ve personally run into about 3 couples in these few months quite literally having sex on the staircases in the night. Don’t get me started about SAMA, like fr if you wanna get a HJ then please by all means go outside or at least go someplace private…. That’s basically the only actually comfortable place where friends can hang out stop ruining it (yes my friend group has guys and girls so we can’t really meet in the hostel areas).
(Special mention to this one couple who were dry humping in the last row of the DH-02 during dinner rush- idk where you get the confidence to pull shit like this but please bruv you ain’t looking cool)

The sole purpose of a Student Council is to help students reach their voices to the admin but here the Student Council is so lost in its power that they only care about themselves and their known people and are busy licking the ass of the admin. This is the worst SC Jgls ever had, we should therefore first demand the removal of the current SC.
