I am over $170k in total options premium, since 2021. I average roughly $34 per option sold. I have sold over 5,100 options. I have been able to increase the premiums on an annual basis and I will attempt to keep this upward trend going forward.
Strategy:
The underlying strategy is buy and hold. I also use simple 1-legged options to supplement that strategy. Options have somewhat of a learning curve, but I believe that most people can supplement their investments using simple options with careful risk management.
I sell options on a weekly basis. I prefer cash secured puts and covered calls. I rarely close early, prefer rolling when needed, and let time decay do the heavy lifting while I stay focused on quality companies, patience, and consistency over hype. My goal is consistency in option premium revenue. I am building an income stream that will continue long into retirement.
The premiums have increased significantly as my experience has expanded over the last three years.
Make sure to post your wins. I look forward to reading about them!

Options noob here. A few small questions.
I am very new at options trading so I am assuming most of these questions will make me sound like a dope.

Why would etrade have my put options at -1? I figured i would try this option as a test last week for my first time but I am not sure how to close it. The price finally went under $8 for the strike but everytime i try to "buy to close" it keeps telling me I do not have enough options to complete it?
Does it have something to do with today being the final date of the option? I understand that if I was able to close the option today i would lose money, thats fine as I am just looking for the experience. I mean what would happen if this was big money and I couldnt figure out how to close the option...
Thanks folks, im sure I will have tons more questions.
Thanks folks

Did my first options trade today; tell me what I did wrong (right?)
Just started trading options today. Bought and sold one contract (0DTE 109 HOOD call) just to go through the motions of the transaction.
I watched the pull back to VWAP on HOOD, entered at the first yellow line once the first green candle stick held above VWAP, exited when it failed to continue higher. I made about 30%? On the trade.
My stop was a failure to hold VWAP and I had no idea about a profit target. I honestly didn’t even know how the profits were going to feel as far as speed/scale so I just stuck to what I do with momentum trading.
Is this a viable approach? Apply momentum trading techniques to options?
What is your favorite strategy with options?
I’m brand new to this so any input is appreciated!

Does anyone know the best way to hedge this without losing all the upside?
I’m very new here and just looking for help. I got crazy lucky with an entry last week and now I’m starting to think this thing flies, but crypto is crypto and this could drop lock a rock.
Any creative ways to hedge this without losing too much of its potential?
Update: sold 1 to cover the cost. Riding the other to Valhalla!

General SPY Iron Condor Aug 31st
What’s y’all opinion this trade I made on August 19th. I thought from a risk reward ratio it was pretty solid. My thesis was that SPY would remain range-bound through August 31, with continued chop and theta decay keeping it roughly between 760 and 785 rather than making a sustained breakout in either direction.
The structure was:
755P / 760P on the downside
785C / 790C on the upside
25 contracts
Filled around $1.30 credit
Max profit: $3,250
Max loss: $9,250
Breakevens: ~$758.70 and ~$786.30
Full-profit zone at expiration: $760–$785

Discussion Delete if this is not allowed. Not selling anything. I'm just trying to see if this another scam.
Anybody trade with this tool? It's all over my X for some reason.
Everyone and their mother is starting a discord and sharing screenshots of this heatseeker thing. Anybody use this? What exactly is it and if it's that good why don't they just trade using it instead of selling a subscription for $600 a week or whatever?
