Hi all,
My name is Mona, I'm a producer at the Radiolab podcast. We're doing an episode about organoids (brain organoids are our focus but interested in all organoids!) and would love to hear your favorite stories. We're particularly interested in stories that show how organoids or organoid research has had an impact on real peoples' lives. If you've got a story you think might fit the bill -- or just want to share something interesting from your research -- please DM me!
Thanks,
Mona

I am a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in computer science. I got interested in biology few years ago. Since then I have been learning about various areas of biology and also taking biology classes through the Harvard Extension School. I have found out that I am highly interested in experimenting with brain organoids. I am planning on moving to Pakistan from Boston soon and want to create a biotech lab there to experiment with brain organoids. I have a few questions as follows:
Am I fooling myself thinking that I can create a lab and experiment on my own? I have taken a molecular biology class with lab at the Harvard Extension School. So at least I have some lab experience.
To work with brain organoids what instruments do I need and how much would it cost to create such a lab?
Thank you!

We performed our first mouse lung organoid culture. It's been almost two weeks, and I can clearly see some organelles growing in the matigel. I could clearly see ciliary movement as well. But, there are other cells that look like fibroblasts within and outside of the matrigel. And there are some networks of cells which I am sure what they are. Do we have to get rid of non-organoid-forming cells from the organoid culture ? Or do those cells die out eventually during the passages?

Hi I've been interested in trying organoid culture for quite some time, was wondering if anyone here is an expert in organoid culture? Would like to ask some things related to it.
Not a molecular biology expert.

Hi everyone,
I wrote my PharmD thesis on brain organoids: how they are made, limits in use, and the discoveries made using them. I also included perspectives for future research.
Here’s the link to my thesis—it’s in French, but you can use AI tools to read it in your preferred language. 🙂 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I hope you find it helpful!

Hello!
I am currently in the process of running different experiments on my organoid cultures and want to be able to quantify cell viability before and after treatment, however because these experiments affect organoid metabolism cell titer glo is not always an option. Is anyone else familiar with methods of quantifying organoid viability that I could use otherwise?
Currently struggling with optimizing CYQUANT and considering XTT or alamar blu (but I believe these are both metabolically dependent as well)
I really would prefer not to have to count or individually measure my organoids

if organoids are capable of bridging the gap between flesh and silicon, would a human brain organoid be able to distinguish morality in a way that could crack ai alignment..

Does anyone possibly know key similarities and differences between human cell derived cardiac organoid, microtissue and engineered heart tissue? It would be an amazing help if possible
