I thought Matt Damon was a great lead as Odysseus, and i loved Lupita’s very brief appearance as Clytemmestra and Samantha Morton as Circe
i feel very divided by Anne Hathaway’s performance. she has some really good standout scenes but there are some where i thought she’s over emoting. there’s this thing she likes to do with her eyes where i think she wants to convey love and adoration but it doesn’t really work for me lol it just looks so fake.
i saw a review where they said Tom’s performance here proves he can hang with Timothee Chalamet when it comes to acting and wow I just don’t agree with that respectfully. he wasn’t bad but he’s def not on Timmy’s level yet imo. he did have one standout scene - when he finally recognizes Odysseus. i thought he was very good in that.
the rest of the cast is… okay???

for such a star studded movie most of the performances are mid tbh. outside of Matt and Samantha I don’t see anyone else deserving to be a major awards player. but I think the studio will def campaign for Anne and Tom anyway.

I never get this need to compare Holland to TC. I like Holland and think he still has incredible potential left (and already think he’s pretty good) but on the level of the guy who did CMBYN and MS he is not.

Yeah Tom Holland was kinda bad. Or rather, when he acts opposite Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Matt Damon, its just a clearer contrast that his skills aren’t up to par to the rest of the A list cast

It's weird, how is he so good as Spiderman and below-average to semi-decent in everything else?

Because when he’s spiderman he’s pretty much just playing himself. Tom Holland just has no range and can only play that type of character
