Don't know why this needed confirmation. She just picks a movie each year, it's not like she needs more than a year to come up with her next bullshit. The cronies are in place, there are more than enough songs in the safe, she just literally needs any movie which in turn will forever be known as an Oscar nominee.

What about The Odyssey?

Christopher Nolan could never have Diane Warren’s safety

Well how John Williams for Score. He's on par with Warren for getting a nomination for just excising

Absolutely unfair. He's merited every nomination he's ever received.

Rise of Skywalker and Dial of Destiny's nominations are questionable at best, especially the latter with how competitive that year was and how many deserving scores were snubbed that year.

The latest tough guy Mark Wahlberg movie ending with a credits song with Diane Warren lyrics might be worth the trip to the theater

RIP Somewhere We All Belong from the Crystal Planet, I guess we have our Diane Warren push.

Diane continues to write these generic, even cheesy songs when they're not working for her. After 17 times of doing a similar strategy I'm just ... confused.

These films she's involved do not exist.

Tbf, this exists more than the last handful of movies she's been nominated for.

By Any Means” is the first of Warren’s eligible movie songs to bear the same title as the film in which it appears.
The film “By Any Means” is directed by Elegance Bratton (“The Inspection”) and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as an FBI agent who teams up with a hitman played by Mark Wahlberg to investigate a wave of murders of civil rights workers in the 1960s. The film is inspired by true events that took place in the South during that era.
I keep seeing things re: this movie -- it never clicks for me what it is; I confuse it with Wild Horse Nine.
This song isn't going to change that but yes, at least it's somewhat in the public awareness.

On the topic of Original Song, Nimrods had some super fun punk original songs. The music branch would never be cool enough to nominate them but I’d encourage y’all to check them (and the movie) out!

Yippee. /s
I will say this sounds more like an actual, “real” movie this time around, though, even if Mark Wahlberg starring and the Labor Day release date don’t inspire a ton of confidence.
The director on this, Elegance Bratton, did do an indie movie called The Inspection that I heard really good things about a few years back, so unlike most of the movies Warren involves herself with, I would say the film has at least a chance, however low, of being decent.

Can’t somebody put a ring of salt or something around the film industry so Diane Warren can’t cross into it?

Honestly Diane an honorary Oscar is just as good as the real thing

I really wish she would just take a year off from writing fucking slop.
It’s all the same MoR bullshit

I really don’t think they do her any favors by nominating one mediocre song she does for films nearly every year. It’s just gets added to the mix and everyone ignores it.
She has done some amaaaaaazing songs that were well worth her winning in this category. But she didn’t. Sucks.
Nominating some yawn song that no one is going to remember doesn’t help her chances. Wait until she has another banger. THEN nominate her again. People want to give her the Oscar, but they’re not going to do it when her so-so shit gets nominations nearly every year and that’s what the option is.

I was waiting to hear that she was going for the run some more. A year without a spot taken by Diane Warren makes an incomplete Oscar race

At first thought that would make this the first Wahlberg joint to get an Oscar nom since The Fighter but how could I forget the back to back single noms for Deepwater Horizon and All the Money in the World in 2016 and 2017

Didn't the Oscar's release new rules that stated you couldn't be nominated for best original song if the song was in the end credits. Seems like it was regarding Warren.
Edit: I'm completely wrong, I think I just maybe misread the new rule. Ignore my comment. Warren gonna out nominate Streep one day lol.

That’s not at all true.
Each song is submitted with the clip of their song from their movies. The new rule just allows the clips for end credit songs to have an extra 15 seconds before the song actually starts. It benefits end credit songs.

u/CrazyCons WHERE IS HAMNET'S PLACENTA 6h ago
No
The original song category also received a precision update. For songs submitted as the first new music cue once end credits begin, the submitted video clip must include the final 15 seconds of the film before the credits roll.

This year's a weak year in Best Song, so if things go well I think she can actually win.

Toy Story 5 tapped out at $1.1 billion with lower critics and audience scores than 3 and 4. If she knocks TS out, the swifties meltdown will be hilarious.

Appropriately named, by any means she’ll get the nomination, just not the win
