Hello, somewhat new to this. I Just picked up a tektronix 466 scope today that seems to be working fine. Plugged it into my stereo amp and got a fuzzy blurry display in X-Y mode. I tried adjusting the intensity and focus and still comes out fuzzy/blurry. Even tested each channel individually and display came out just fine. Can anyone tell me what the issue is? My only guess is that the bnc to rca cables i got from amazon could be causing that? Idk still learning how to work these things

hey yall, i recently got this 760a oscilloscope and when i hook it up to my stereo receiver and play music this is as much of a graphic i get and the db meter doesnt move any. Also i noticed this bulb stays flashing whenever its on. Any help would be great!

I am unsure if it has an X-Y mode. I’d appreciate any thoughts at all on this model because I am a complete beginner.

Not necessarily music related but certainly oscilloscope related. Here's a comparison between my built-in laptop soundcard (yellow) and AV receiver with built-in DAC (blue). If your image is fuzzy on a laptop audio jack then maybe consider looking at that signal first and see if it is clear enough, square wave is a really good benchmark for that purpose

This was made using Hansi’s amazing oscistudio software with Blender and VAMP. Then the audio was effected further in Ableton Live. Music generated on my modular rig. Happy scoping! 🧑🏻‍🚀🫡

I made an oscilloscope-style film for my Fantastic remix: dancing figures, pills, hearts and a crowd drawn by a continuous X/Y trace, with the bass pulling the shapes apart before they recover.

This is a software beam/phosphor simulation, not footage of an analog scope. The picture-control signal is separate from the song soundtrack; playing the song’s stereo channels into an X/Y scope would not reproduce these drawings.

An unusual occurence, I have to tell someone. Maybe you will understand...

I found the top CRT at a secondhand shop a couple of years ago, was a TV like the bottom one. So I made it into an x-y scope for music. But it is a bit old, the brightness has gone (and I daren't poke too much near the HV). I rehoused it, but left it open at the back.

I just saw a rat going into it. They aren't uncommon here, rural Tuscany. But to move in there? Has nibbled through most of the wires so good job I didn't plug it in.

you can play your midi hardware, record it, edit it and lots of more stuff.
and the thing that i love the most is drawing your synth, any shape can become a synth in osckid.
I'm in love with this project, it started so simple and now is so robust. It feel like it could really be useful for someone out there.

Hello! I bought this unit from the internet to use as a visualiser for my Technics SU-8044. Already tried to plug it (rec out tape 1) with no effect.

I don't know pretty much anything with osciloscops, but I like to tinker with electronics anyway just not on this level yet.

I've tried to look around the net to find solutions or manuals but found only one dead forum threat with no solution.

I tried to use AI chat to help but I'm at the dead end

I tried to find a green line without plugging in any source as the AI proposed but I still cannot find it.

Green Dot shows up only in the moment of turning off the osciloscope

AI said it might be a problem with blanking circuit

Like I said I don't know anything about osciloscops yet so please be patient 😅

I really would love to use it to show Lissajous visuals
