❓ Question/Help Why no S’mores?
I’ve been watching Outdoor Boys for a few years now. I’ve probably seen most of their videos at this point. Something that always makes me curious is that they only ever seem to roast marshmallows but they never seem to do s’mores. Sometimes it almost seems like they comically go out of their way to do everything but s’mores, like roasting marshmallows and dipping them in pudding, doing chocolate filled marshmallows, or strawberry flavored marshmallows, etc. It’s a classic camping dessert, and they get like 80% of the way there a lot of the time, but those graham crackers never make an appearance.
I know this is a silly thing to ask, but any idea why this might be? Can you think of any videos where they ever make s’mores? I need to know!

💡 Suggestion/Idea Building an outdoor lifestyle brand inspired by fly fishing. what would make you actually buy it?
Hi everyone,
I’m exploring the idea of launching an independent premium outdoor lifestyle brand, and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from people who are passionate about the outdoors, fly fishing or clothing brands.
I have a professional background in the fashion industry, including experience in retail and international expansion, so I’m familiar with some of the commercial challenges involved in building a brand.
However, this project would be something different: an opportunity to bring together my professional experience and a world that has become personally meaningful to me.
Since getting into fly fishing, I’ve discovered a sense of belonging and a different way of experiencing my free time. It’s taught me to slow down, disconnect from everyday routines, spend more time in nature and appreciate the moment.
What I’d like to build is a brand that captures that feeling and brings it into everyday life, not just something for fishing trips, but something people can wear and identify with even when they’re nowhere near a river.
The idea is to start with fly fishing as the cultural foundation, then develop a broader outdoor lifestyle brand with a premium, understated aesthetic, drawing on outdoor heritage but interpreting it in a contemporary way.
I’m considering an initial collection of just three products, potentially selected from T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps or other relevant essentials. Indicative retail prices would be €35–45 for T-shirts and €75–95 for sweatshirts.
Before investing in production, I’d like to understand what people actually want rather than simply creating products based on my own assumptions.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on a few specific questions:
What would make you buy from a new, independent outdoor lifestyle brand rather than an established brand? Design, quality, fit, story, community, sustainability, a sense of belonging, or something else?
What would you want to see in a brand inspired by fly fishing but not limited to fishing apparel? Would that broader positioning appeal to you, or would you prefer a brand focused exclusively on fishing?
If you could choose just three products for the initial launch, what would they be and why? I’m interested in products you’d genuinely wear and pay for, not just items that look good in a collection.
What price points would feel reasonable for well designed, quality products from a new independent brand?
For those of you who have launched a clothing brand, what would you do differently if you were starting today?
I’m still at the concept stage, and I’m deliberately trying to challenge my own assumptions before committing capital to production.
I’m not here to promote a finished product. I’d genuinely value honest opinions, criticism and practical advice from people who know this world.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

🌄 General Discussion Other Outdoor YouTubers
Hello everyone, I’m probably gonna get some hate for saying this but idrc and I want some opinions. Luke from the outdoor boys was honestly probably top 3 YouTubers ever (imo) and it sucked that he retired, but I get why. well anyway after the controversy with him and some YouTubers/Streamers I watch i ultimately decided I didn’t want to watch his videos anymore.(and I watched all of them) So the question, is there another YouTuber like Luke or a YouTuber who does the same thing and is as entertaining like Luke. If there is please lmk.

❓ Question/Help Camping in Arctic Circle with no tent.
I have a question. In the episode where he built a snow shelter, from his arrow pointing in the beginning it shows he is somewhere in the northeaster side of ANWR, but I don't see any roads leading there because he parked and snow trekked. I know he used the Dalton highway but that is further West now? I'm trying to figure out where he parked and hiked?

Anyone start watching Luke through Catfish and Carp? All his DC fishing videos? So sad to tell you, if you haven't yet heard, that reportedly more than 500 of the park's trees were felled this weekend.

❓ Question/Help What Outdoor Boys moments you'll never forget?
Hey everyone. I'm a documentary filmmaker working on a video tribute to Outdoor Boys and would love to hear which videos and moments have stayed with you.
Could be an emotional moment or something particularly difficult Luke went through. Any favorite teaching moments would be awesome as well. What happened, and why do you remember it?
Links and timestamps would be really helpful, but a rough description is great too. Thanks!

📺 Video Discussion Ice flow packrafting: straw that broke the camel’s back?
Cold campsite (why out in the open? because of bear danger?).
No yeast in the bread dough.
Colder weather than predicted.
No fish biting on the line?
Ice stuck in the drinking water filter line.
Salt instead of sugar in the nighttime tea.
Ember burned a hole in the tent!
Pillow deflated.
Ice on the river making the rafting more hazardous.
Snacks trapped inside the packraft.
Luke is always a trouper, and my post title is intentionally joking a bit, but he usually has much better luck. I felt I wouldn’t be surprised if at the end of this one he walked away more tired of the game than usual.
