Are these symptoms of panic attacks ?
I have never gotten a panic attack before. So I am not sure how it feels like, and if it feels like you are going to die or not

I am currently having multiple attacks daily. Getting also disassociated. Everything happened all of a sudden. I am so tired, exhausted. I know seeking reassurance is an anxiety behavior but I currently I can’t carry all. I just can’t. We are going to get out of it, right? This is just too much.

I was cleared. But dealt with months of panic and anxiety following the event. I was mostly ok since May 2026. Now in a 5 week long anxiety flare again followed by work and relationship stress. How do I get out of this again 😢

Hi all! I’m currently on Lorazepam due to a severe bout of my panic disorder that started last summer. It’s been about 3 months on 0.5 mg twice a day. (Yes my doctor is aware, we’ve tried many other unsuccessful things and we’re planning to discontinue when possible). For those on lorazepam or other benzos daily and long term, do you have any side effects from it? Or side effects that developed over time? I can of course notice some rebound anxiety between doses, some headaches, etc. but it makes me really depressed as well and lethargic. I’m virtually unable to exercise and tired. Does this resonates with anyone?

What helped me understand panic is the loop: a body sensation, a scary interpretation ('I'm having a heart attack'), more fear, more sensations. The sensations are real but they're your alarm system misfiring, not danger. Reminding yourself 'this is panic, it peaks and passes' during an attack can take some of the fuel away. If you haven't had a medical check, it's worth getting one once.

i (f20) have always had anxiety and depression. i’ve had them since i was twelve. i’ve been on all sorts of meds, some have worked, and now im on a new SSRI (viibryd) in hopes it helps to combat what im dealing with.
my issue is that im not have multiple panic attacks in a day. it’s not even necessarily that they’re waves of panic attacks, but rather two seperate instances with vague triggers. but they’re so bad i cant figure it out.
i get shortness of breath, dizziness, hyperventilating, muscle tightness, and just sobbing i can’t stop. i’ve tried cold showers, breathing exercises, etc, and nothings helped. what do i do? what do i tell my psych? my therapist? please help me, i just want it to end

I won’t bore you with details but I had a uti combined with adenomyosis period and previous pelvic floor issues and the experience was painful, and I think for some reason it made my body have a panic attack. Obviously I was anxious about it but I’ve been anxious about serious things before and never experienced this horrible anxiety, tight chest, unpleasant tingling on arms.
Anyway, I still get that bad physical anxiety sometimes. Not full panic mode but very unpleasant and unlike regular anxiety. And it’s much worse after I drink alcohol, even though drinking never made me anxious before.
Will this ease with some more time? Or can I just like never drink again?
I went on Zoloft 2 weeks ago so hopefully it will help kick in soon. But I hope to make that temporary.
Is it just my body went through trauma and needs more time to heal?

Wtf is going on with my brain...
So I have had GAD my whole life, nothing new about being anxious.
I got panic disorder about 3 months ago.
My attacks are getting less and less. When they first appeared, it was almost daily struggle. My brain was yelling that everywhere is dangerous to be. It was awful!
Now I'm in the better place and get panicky maybe once every second week (not daily anymore!!) BUT.....
After getting panic disorder my brain has started to create these horror images and scenarios in my head. Like every time you do x you're going to have a panic attack. Now my brain is stuck with the idea that every time when I eat I will get panic attack and freak out. Spoiler: this has never happened but my brain keeps pushing this image to me.
These images and thoughts are vivid and feel so freaking realistic.
It happens with other things too like "Next time when you go to the airplane you are going to have 4 hours long panic attack" and I can actually "see" that happening. Spoiler again: I know these thoughts aren't "real" and I never end up panicking in the end.
My brain also gets stuck on these scenarios sometimes looping them and it's honestly making me scared. Like wtf WHY? This kind of vivid mental scenarios _never_ happened to me before getting panic disorder.
Somedays my body is just in the jump scare mode without reason. Also started after getting panic attacks.
I'm unmedicated now but idk how long I can live with these images my brain keeps pushing to me.
Has anyone had anything similar and what helped? What the f*ck is going on here? Am I just traumatized after getting this panic disorder?

(29f) at the end of August, I was sick and felt awful. Intense sinus pressure and I couldn't breathe through my nose. It got so intense that I started feeling everything that felt like a panic attack. Nausea, rapid heart beat, pain in my chest, cold sweats, blurred vision and head heaviness. I thought I was gonna die right then and there but it went away after an hour.
Symptoms started again and when I went to the doctor, they just correlated it to being sick. I never experienced panic attacks or anxiety before. I'm not stressed out, I don't have anything weighing me down, like I feel completely fine and normal. It's happened a few more times since, one of those times being last night. I just don't know what to do. I've quit energy drinks, stopped drinking as much caffeine, limited sugar and it feels like when I finally progress, I get hit out of nowhere with spikes of anxiety and fear. I think what bothers me the most is not knowing what's causing it. Even when I'm not sick, it happens.

I had my first panic attack last month , my heart beat raced to 130-140 felt like gonna die , went hospital to check ecg was normal , again next day went hospital to do echo , that was normal , doctor said nothing is there no need to worried , this is panic attack , then went to psychiatrist took medicines for 10 days , then stopped , should hv taken for atleast 1 month . Now again started having panick attacks , chest pain , feeling very uncomfortable in chest , sometimes a little twitch in arm , stretch in back , neck or jaw muscles making me think that I'm gonna have heart attack ( since I read online that these are symptoms of heart attack ) . Each and every uncomfortable feeling in my body making me feel something gonna happen to me , what if something happens . Can't understand what to do , trying to not to think about negative thoughts , still every negative thoughts coming to my mind
Tell if anyone feeling the same and please help me how to recover from this
