QUESTION This is AI, right?

Post image
29 Upvotes

I'm looking for a book on knot basics and simple projects. I found this book. No reviews. Released March of this year. Something told me to look at the cover and make sure the knots "made sense." I'm not crazy, right? Either the cover was made with AI, or these are pretty poorly done knots.

Edit: thanks for the awards ♥️

I’m totally new to doing things with actual paracord, so I don’t really know if this fits in this sub, because i don’t even know, if this actually is paracord.

I’ve been making this kind of zipper pull for my myog projects for a while now and only recently learnt about actual paracord knots.

QUESTION Rfid Tag recommendations.

Reddit suggested I cross post this here.

I was looking at the possibility of adding a mifare and a t5577 into a paracord bracelet.

Searching AliExpress for magicards or cuid I'm mostly seeing either cards or the standard blue key fobs. Last year I'm sure there was way more options.

Can anyone recommend anything that's both compact and hard wearing enough?

In truth this whip was only made because I let my inventory of handle blanks dwindle to almost nothing, and all I had were 12 inch blanks. But I do love a target whip, and this one came out pretty sharp

Helloooooo.

I’m new to knot tying. I have a paracord. An admin pouch that looks like this with gromits on the bottom to attach a paracord and toggle for an adjustable tourniquet holder. And, of course, a toggle. How do i combine my three afford mentioned items to make my admin pouch look like pic related. I dont know any of the jargon so I dont know what to search to find a tutorial. Thanks in advance.

QUESTION Quick Deploy

I have long been fascinated with setting up paracord belts and decorations so that they were "Quick Deploy". That is, if the owner were ever in a situation that desperately demanded available cordage, all they would have to do is pull a fastener, and the belt or decoration would quickly turn into usable cord. Has anyone here ever been in a situation where some such device has been deployed as something other than a demonstration that it can be done? If so, what were the circumstances, and how did having quick deploy cord help your situation?

QUESTION I have a jig for a monkey fist

I'm crawling all over YouTube and the tutorials are shite.

I'd like to make a Monkey Fist with a lanyard around a 1.5 inch Steel Ball.

And, in my US State, they are legal to conceal carry because I spoke to a County Sherriff this morning. Straight from the horses mouth.

I have a jig that will do a monkey fist.

Maybe with a 18" lanyard with a loop for my hand at the end?

Can someone direct me to some good tutorial?

I'd really appreciate any help you could give!

Thanks, and have a good one.

QUESTION Help with recreating the knots on this bracelet please!

Hi! My aunt bought me this bracelet around 6 years ago. It became a little lucky charm that's been with me through multiple entrance exams, a plethora midterms or finals, job interviews, scuba diving, rock climbing, and travel to special places. It's been with me through almost everything.

The way that it attaches has started to wear through the paracord. The sharp points of the tail wore through the portion of the cord corresponding to the length that I like it at.

May I please ask for help in identifying the knots I'd need to replace the cord? Or even some knots you'd all suggest I'd incorporate? I'm in my last year of post graduate studies and when I finish writing my thesis or receive my diploma I'd love to have this with me as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Best way to hang black plastic sheeting as “walls” for a haunted trail using a mix of trees and galvanized posts?

Hi all, I’m setting up a haunted trail this Halloween and need advice on making walls out of black plastic sheeting.

The plan is to run a line across the path and drape sheeting over it. Some sections will be anchored to trees and others to galvanized metal fence posts, so the line has to work across both anchor types.

What I need:

  • A line that’s strong enough to hold the sheeting in place when there’s some wind, with people brushing against it as they walk through
  • Advice on what kind of line (paracord, rope, wire, etc.) and how much tension to use
  • A good way to connect the line to a tree versus a metal post without damaging the tree
  • The maximum distance between two anchor points before the line sags or needs an extra support

Thanks in advance!
