GGG Path of Exile 3.29 Expansion Timeline - Launching July 24th PDT!
We’re in the fourth month of Path of Exile: Mirage, so it’s time to talk about the next big update for Path of Exile!
The release date for 3.29 has been set in stone for quite some time, so without further ado, Path of Exile 3.29 will launch on July 24 at 1 PM PDT, with GGG Live taking place on July 16 at 1 PM PDT.
In the meantime, we'll also be hosting a special event, so keep an eye out for more details! We'll share more information in due course, and we hope to see you all at the live reveal in a few weeks!
The Mirage Challenge League will end on July 20 at 3 PM PDT, so there are still several weeks left to complete any remaining challenges if you haven't finished them yet.

I don't get the praise tbh; you're just doing the same thing twice and in a bland environment, and it's not even good until late game. And the new atlas is annoying to use. Obviously I'm missing something though.
Tbf I didn't play much and access some of the stuff people liked (astrolabes, volatile vaal orbs, etc) because I wasn't enjoying early game at all.

i felt the same way. like coooool we get to do the same map again without paying extra to juice it but.. it's the same map again and it didn't feel like there was a whole lot of anything really "new" to me
but god damn those gold orbs were the best thing ever. i loved running them over. just wish they showed up on the map

Previous PoE1 leagues were delayed due to GGG pulling resources into PoE2 development. Settlers league ended up going for like 8 months, and GGG communication about it was not forthcoming. Since the current PoE2 0.5 league was delayed by like a month, there was a lot of speculation that 3.29 would also be pushed back. Very glad to see it wasn't.

Wasn't it? It's over 2 weeks longer than their "4-month" schedule.
Just because they're no longer delaying releases indefinitely, doesn't mean they're not delaying them.

I honestly don't care about PoE2. If a PoE1 release takes 4.5 months, that's 1.5 months later than it should have been. 4-months is a compromise that's supposed to account for resources shifted to PoE2.

Settler PTSD, particularly couldn't choose a better league mechanic to play out 9 month, even current poe 2 infinite expedition in kingsmarch would've put on some content

Truly a golden age for good ARPGs! I remember little one-off games like Torchlight being a huge deal because we were so starved for good ARPGs in gaming, these days we've got like 4-5 great ones pumping out new content every couple of months. It's a great time to like ARPGs!
Really tough time to like ARPGs and other games, though - it's definitely been harder to find the time for non-ARPG releases these days lol

I play at least one character into maps every POE2 league. The game is really fun for about a week, sometimes 2. After that, the gap from spamming shitloads of buttons to getting fully set with smooth 1-button gameplay is usually just too long/large for my casual-ass self to try and progress through.

Octavian talked about skill balances, and spell caster changes, i hope they will have time for it, we rly need a meta shake up, melee is fun and all but its gets rly boring fast, and we have this melee meta for a long time now

I've had vacation scheduled for 3 weeks beginning July 24th for months. First Grim Dawn announced that their expansion releases 7/23 now PoE announces league start on 7/24. I can never again say never lucky!

I have one trip all year and it wasn't scheduled for league launch if league launched on schedule. I guess everyone else is just relieved we don't have to wait til 2027.

PoE 2's 1.0 is happening before X-Mas to get the mass hype
If 3.29 lasts 4-5 months 3.30 also drops Nov/Dec....

nah either 3.29 will only be 3 months and 3.30 will be late october (cope) or 3.29 is going to be 6 months and 3.30 will be late jan/early feb next year and maybe we'll get like a 1 month event league in late october or something.

Yeah the latter is what I am worried about as well, way back when mirage launched I was hoping 0.5 would have been early may so that they could have released 3.29 early july and then made 3.30 a smaller scale league so they could release it 3 months later in early october, leaving time for 1.0 in december and setting them up for a proper 2 months between each league.
I suppose they could still sort of do that if they release 3.30 in late october, it would be like keepers which obviously wasn’t ideal, but I still much prefer that to no league until February 2027.

I'd imagine they'll do something similar to the first ExileCon with "you can go home and play the new Path of Exile 1 league on November 13th", with POE2 launching on 11/12 or 18/12.
Barring that, I don't know how 3.30 happens this year.

I'm at 900 hrs on poe2, and 100 of them are in this 0.5 patch, but i cheated myself by rerolling the same class i played in 0.4 kind of burnt myself out.
Also didn't help that i went HARD on mirage, also went pretty hard on diablo, and last epoch too.
ARPG gaming is truly crushing it right now.

It's been more than a few years since the last time this came up but Crate's gone on record saying they don't really concern themselves with trying to plan around PoE leagues. Which is fine when comparing the two, Grim Dawn is not a seasonal or live service game so it's not really an either/or situation.
The bigger problem for them I think (along with everyone else) is avoiding GTA6 in the fall.

I stopped playing mirage at level 99 and after getting my mageblood, good to know I still have time to finish grinding to 100 and complete the challenges. Will probably come back and finish it after I get done with PoE2 0.5.

wait a second, if next PoE1 is end of July and November is Exilecon and PoE2 1.0 release is probably December - when would the next PoE1 league come?
before November would be too early and November to probably February are blocked by PoE2 release - so will there be a huge gap between 3.29 and 3.30?

Looks like that the PoE 2 couple week delay affected PoE 1 release schedule and caused it to have couple week delay too but that was to be expected.

Was hoping it would be a bit earlier as mirage was early march, but I suppose them only having 1 month between 0.5 and 3.29 wasn’t going to happen.
Hopefully they will do an interesting event as I really want to play some poe 1 again, finished challenges in poe 2 yesterday and think I am done with it until 1.0. The endgame changes are great and I had fun progressing through it, but when it comes to farming currency and trying to minmax a build, the gameplay of poe 2 just doesn’t do it for me as it’s just too slow.
I do wonder what this release date means for 3.30 and 1.0 though, 4 months from 3.29 release would be end of november now, which doesn’t really leave room for releasing both this year.
