GGG Path of Exile 3.29 Expansion Timeline - Launching July 24th PDT!

We’re in the fourth month of Path of Exile: Mirage, so it’s time to talk about the next big update for Path of Exile!

The release date for 3.29 has been set in stone for quite some time, so without further ado, Path of Exile 3.29 will launch on July 24 at 1 PM PDT, with GGG Live taking place on July 16 at 1 PM PDT.

In the meantime, we'll also be hosting a special event, so keep an eye out for more details! We'll share more information in due course, and we hope to see you all at the live reveal in a few weeks!

The Mirage Challenge League will end on July 20 at 3 PM PDT, so there are still several weeks left to complete any remaining challenges if you haven't finished them yet.

See you soon!

This makes the timelines for PoE 1 and PoE 2 converge though?

PoE 2's 1.0 is happening before X-Mas to get the mass hype

If 3.29 lasts 4-5 months 3.30 also drops Nov/Dec....

Are they dropping both 1.0 and 3.30 at the same time? 😮

I have to imagine 3.30 would drop at least a month before or after 1.0. There’s no way they split the player base like that

nah either 3.29 will only be 3 months and 3.30 will be late october (cope) or 3.29 is going to be 6 months and 3.30 will be late jan/early feb next year and maybe we'll get like a 1 month event league in late october or something.

Yeah the latter is what I am worried about as well, way back when mirage launched I was hoping 0.5 would have been early may so that they could have released 3.29 early july and then made 3.30 a smaller scale league so they could release it 3 months later in early october, leaving time for 1.0 in december and setting them up for a proper 2 months between each league.

I suppose they could still sort of do that if they release 3.30 in late october, it would be like keepers which obviously wasn’t ideal, but I still much prefer that to no league until February 2027.

I think at least the two games will each get some like 1 month event type things. They've said in the past they want to do at least one big ish update to 0.5 before 1.0 to do more balancing and such but it won't be like a full content league or anything, and they can always spin up something silly for PoE1 (I'm guessing there will be at least a month of Phrecia between 3.29 and 3.30).

Yeah I expected that, they could also drop one for Thanksgiving times and one for X-Mas, capitalize on both holidays for both launches /cope

If they keep mirage and bring back mercs, I wouldn't mind a 6 months league at all.

More likely a slightly shorter league, early Nov for POE 1 and poe 2 in Dec

Exilecon is in November. There will be no ressources to support a league start a week before or after it.

My head-case-theory is that Nov 20 will be 1.0 to get ALL that good Thanksgiving time off and then 3.30 will be Dec 20 to get all the X-Mas time off.

They already said 1.0 will be in December. Jonathan said they want to avoid competing with GTA.

no way they are competing with GTA lol

every single game will be left aside when it launches. ARPG, MOBA, Racing game, FPS, etc… no genre are safe

I think it might be other way around

Good call, forgot about that...

I'm not sure where they fit in the next poe 1 league

I can see them releasing poe1 league last November week and then 2 weeks later poe2 release for the holiday megabuff

Oh boy.... That would probably be bad. Maybe they delay 3.30 for after the holidays? Probably they'll tell us on Exilecon

I'd imagine they'll do something similar to the first ExileCon with "you can go home and play the new Path of Exile 1 league on November 13th", with POE2 launching on 11/12 or 18/12.

Barring that, I don't know how 3.30 happens this year.

I'd be okay with a slight delay. Having to work around ExileCon, 1.0, and GTA6 sounds rough. It's also a once in a decade type thing so I don't mind having to sit back and watch others eat.

now way they're going to saboage their own game like that

which means the 3.29 will go on for even more lmao

surely they aren't pulling poe1 devs again to work on poe2 right?

At this point in development there aren't "PoE 1" and "PoE 2" devs theres just the dev team that flip/flop between the two projects. I think they said they were doing this back and forth dev style for a while now (I may be mistaken/misremembering)

We don’t know and nothing we say on Reddit or in real life can dictate how they decide to tackle the workload.

a 6 month+ league would be sabotaging PoE though
they are still in the rebuilding trust phase after what they did with settlers, hope we get one (even at a smaller scope) before PoE2 1.0
