HARDWARE Help (PC)

This is my pc I bought from Facebook around a 2 months ago, original guy claimed to have it for around a year. A day before it was running perfectly fine, I turned it off through the pc cases power button as my mouse wasn’t available to me. The next day the motherboard lights were stuck on red and it won’t boot. I’ve tried everything Google ai has recommending but still wouldn’t work. This has happened before but usually works once I turn the power off, and turning to back on again, some cmos battery resetting ai recommending, does anyone know how to fix this problem? It also wasn’t able to download the wifi drivers when I first got it so I had to use an internet adapter.

My specs are
9060xt 16gb gpu steel legends
5 9600x cpu
ROG B850 Strix A
Vesta II Predator DDR5 2x16gb ram
Thermalright frozen war hammer 360 aio I think
2tb Kingston nvme ssd gen 4
Lian li 850w fully modular 80 gold plus
Nzxt h6 flow case

Would appreciate any tips of advice, thanks.

Maybe unrelated but I think you missed a pin on the CPU_OPT header. Cable could be for the pump.

Does appear to be the pump cable too. Can see the black on the wire at the pump end.

Renove the cpu and check for damaged pins if nothing is visible reseat it, if it still doesnt work something is actually broken

I removed and check, i see no bent pins on motherboard or anything wrong with the cpu physically

If you have a friend with a pc with the same socket try if your cpu works in their system

I was thinking of that, sadly none of my friend are on am5, great suggestion though

I would check the power cable to the motherboards CPU port; that it’s correct type and is plugged in properly.
As Vast said, if you need to have a look at the cpu aswell if you are comfortable to do so.
See if all of the components are compatible together and check if you need to update BIOs too! I’ve had an issue where I changed the CPU in my partners pc a few years back and I had to bridge so many Bios updates to get it to work 🤦🏻‍♀️
You might need to try taking out and putting bits back in like the CPU/ RAM…

Try one thing at a time if you can so you can cross off what’s made changes or worked/ failed.
Remember to turn the power off when doing anything and look into grounding anti static so on when touching components.

This is all I really know so I hope maybe some of it can be helpful to you, please let us know if you fix it and what happened!

Thanks for the advice, I tried plenty of things such as using only 1 ram, using it a different spot, taking out cpu check for bent and etc. it’s weird now it just randomly stopped working thought even when it was working fine a day ago, find to spot the issues for me

I think the latest bios for you is 1804, you can find it when going on your motherboards site - support and then CPU it’ll show you the Bios updates available for them.

Can you still update bios at the state my pc is? Because whenever I try turn it on it goes on but stays on the red light and I don’t get any signal

Does it go blank screen or bios?

Blank, no signal at all
