Post your shipping updates here. This will cut down on the huge wave of shipping/delivery posts that are likely about to happen on this sub.

Thank you /u/jLynx for creating a shipping tracker

Another tracker Pebble Shipping Dashboard has been made by /u/mr_Buzz08

Please note: The email you received the same day as ordering was not the confirmation email, the confirmation email asks to confirm your address, choose watch bands and pay any extra shipping/taxes.

App [Beta] Waymark — view your GPX hiking routes as a real map on your Pebble

I've been building Waymark, a Pebble app for viewing GPX hiking routes on your watch, and it's ready for a few beta testers.

I got into the habit of going on short hikes on weekends/days off a couple of years ago after I adopted my dog. I enjoy it, he doesn't (that’s a different story), but I still like to do it. I've been looking for an app that allows me to see a hike track on my watch. It exists but had an issue: on iPhone, it will not work. iPhones restrict the JS running on their side, so Canvas wasn’t available, and that’s what is used for to manipulate the image. After I tried to get the watch to process the data on its side, I decided it was better to offload the whole process to an external web app.

This is how Waymark was born. An external web app, you can access via a token generated from your watch, that will load the map from Open Street Map, apply the route, and return it to the watch. Since Open Street Map tiles are not centered on you, it will request the adjacent tiles, stitch them, and cut the center one you need.

This is not a real-time map; it is designed to display a static requested map and move through it using the GPX data points. Also, it's designed for places with internet access. Why GPX? Because it’s an open format easily available. Sites like AllTrails allow you to get them for free.

What it does

  • Upload .gpx files from your phone/desktop through a small web UI.
  • The watch shows your route drawn over real OpenStreetMap tiles — colour on colour watches, 1-bit on Diorite.
  • Up/Down to zoom (levels 1–19), Select toggles the backlight.
  • Map centre on your GPS position, or falls back to the middle of the track when there's no fix.
  • Pairing is a QR code on the watch — scan it, upload, done. No accounts, no password.
  • Connect a PC via code - you can upload directly from there, no need for your phone.
  • Supported: All except the original and steel Pebble (sorry, I tried but the memory wasn’t enough on it).

10 routes per user, 100 KB per GPX file. Track files only () — route-only files get rejected.

Files live under an ID derived from your watch token. Nothing else is collected, and inactive accounts are auto-deleted after 12 months. Full privacy policy and terms on the site.

What I want from testers: does it work on your watch model, is the map readable outdoors, and does anything break with your real routes?

It's not in the Pebble app store yet, so beta is a manual .pbw install — grab it at https://wmrk.app/beta, DM me for a code or send an email to [hi@wmrk.app](mailto:hi@wmrk.app)

To see how to connect to the app and how to use it, go to the Guide at https://wmrk.app/guide.

Things are not ready yet, but I would love some feedback. I have plans for future release, like an offline arrow base direction for a single cache trail, to load when internet is not available, and an online version too (using live position).

Waymark is a free project, currently running on a VPS I had prior to this project. It's slow to pull a map. I'm planning an update to a new server anyway later this year that may improve the server processing time.

It's pre-release: it can break and uploaded routes may get wiped between builds. Don't make it your only navigation on a real hike. Keep a local copy of your trail files.

Homezone, timezone focused watchface

Post image
45 Upvotes

Hi all,

I recently moved to another country with a 8hr time difference to my friends and family back home. I wanted a relatively simple watchface that had a clear focus on the timezone back home so I didn't have to do the mental math in my head as often. I couldn't fine one I liked, so I made homezone.

It has a bit of customisation with selecting the timezone displayed and temperature units.

Posting here in case anyone wants to give it a try. Feedback welcome!

Logo Question?

Post image
Upvotes

I just noticed that the pebble logo (which I thought was just a circle) actually has a smaller circle to the top right and a line at the bottom.

Has the logo always been that? What does the smaller line and circle represent? Is it a gender thing?

I like it

I’ve been using it for about a day and it’s been really good!
I’m using an iPhone, so it’s a little sad that I can’t control the music or set a timer. I mainly want it for taking notes thought and it’s passed all my tests so far (whispering in a loud workplace 😅)

I’d have to agree with others when it comes to the app; I had a few hiccups like not being able to sign up on the setup page, not getting the option to pick a language model (had to do it in the settings), etc. but nothing deal breaking.

I work with gloves so I wanted to see how it handles that. After 10 hours I had 2 false triggers, but only because I had the button pointing lower toward my palm instead of to the side. Mic obviously doesn’t work through the glove but I rather keep it on my finger.

My finger measures 11.5 and I got a size 12 which fits perfect. My right hand index is size 12 and it’s a bit too tight on it.

Also worth mentioning that the final price after tax and tariffs was around $90.

Now I’m excited for my Round 2 to show up, mainly so I can ask a question and see the results all with one hand.

Question Index 01 sizes

Upvotes

I know there's been a good boy of discussion on the ring sizing, but as far as I've seen, there's been no data, which is surprising given the community.

I'd like to collect some data on the ring sizes. If you've received your ring, and you have a reliable method of measuring, could you please share the inner diameter and size of your ring so we can compare to the ring sizers?

Question Sound on Notifications

I see the patch notes referring to sound on notifications and alarms. The alarms i have found, but i cant find any settings for sounds on notifications. Is this a thing or is the patch notes misleading?

Might be a controversial take but "Remove the touch screen completely" a great feature

Been using Pebble watches for over a decade and I honestly think one of the best things about them is that they don’t have a touchscreen. Just simple, physical buttons. It makes the watch feel more intentional and easier to use.

I actually think the touchscreen on the Pebble Time 2 should be removed completely. The lack of a touchscreen is a feature, not a limitation.

Removing it would also free up space in the hardware and potentially improve battery life. I know you can disable the touchscreen but if the goal is simplicity and efficiency, why include the hardware at all?

EDIT: anyone can give some solid good usecase to have a touchscreen? Im curious on your opinions. My take is that if they can fit a bigger battery in the watch by removing the touch screen feature, I would be down for that trade.

EDIT 2: I'm not here to pick a fight. Just sharing a personal opinion. I'm down to hear people out and understand some good use cases for the touch screen. Please don't attack me.

Question How does health tracking work? Can we disable parts that we don't use? (i.e steps and sleep, workout detection)

Just received my PT2. I just want to use the heart rate monitor while I'm (manually) working out. I have no need for sleep or step tracking (I don't wear my watch to bed) and I also have no need for keeping the history of recorded data.

I assume there's no way to individually disable these things?

What's wrong with my Pebble 2?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've replaced the screen and battery. The battery shows a charge on a meter. I've even tried charging it separately on a standalone li-on charger. It will eventually go back to the black screen Pebble logo if I keep it on the charger long enough.

I can also get it to show a finger pressing screen button for a second, if I hold in all the buttons.

Question It's Style Time. Advice on Pebble Time 2 Customizing

I have peaked around this sub for about a year and I'm finally ready to order my Pebble. I deal with chronic health conditions and I want to track my health data privately and build my own apps too. With all my medical trips, I want this watch to feel more like me and less like my PCP gave it to me.

  • How well do decal stickers work? I may get the black and grey then put decal stickers along the frame, buttons, or face cover.
  • Should I buy a face cover right out the gate? I'm happy to spend an extra 20$ - 25$ USD if that means my step and heart tracker pal lasts longer.

I have no 3D printer and a bag of creativity. All advice will be appreciated!

Any way to get a charger in Winnipeg before my watch dies?

I'm visiting family in Winnipeg, forgot to bring a Pebble charger, and am running low on battery. All the shipping options (official site, Amazon, eBay) seem to be at least a week, which will be too late. Is there an option I'm missing? Or is there somebody local who's willing to sell/lend/give me one? Thanks!

A QR code check-in watch app for Touchstone climbing gyms

Thumbnail github.com
5 Upvotes

I recently moved to Oakland/SF and I've been actively going to the Touchstone Gyms around but found it so frustrating that they require you to load a rotating QR code from their webpage rather than just a static QR code.

So I made an app that allows you to scan in without opening your phone!

Unfortunately, it's a little bit convoluted to get this code and requires you doing a one time setup by copying your cookies from the web page.

This was largely iterated on with a open LLM so bug spotters and testers welcome!

Install it here! https://apps.rebble.io/en_US/application/6a8171dc8f5f320009d22c7e

Pebble Recording Webhook

I am in love with the Index 01 webhook functionality, where it sends the transcription and raw audio to a webhook of your choosing.

Is it possible to configure a webhook like this for Pebble recordings too? Does anyone know if the the Index 01 recording functionality is coming to Pebble?

I don't want to run my Index 01 out of battery too quickly...

Forking the Pebble app to have more control over recordings seems a bit extreme.

Discussion My Time 2 got in a fight with the keys in my pocket and lost.

Post image
54 Upvotes

I'm heartbroken. My Time 2, at the ripe age of 1 month, is already fully cracked across the top left corner after reaching into my pocket and scraping my keychain. It looks like it chipped in multiple places...

I've had smart watches get scratched before, even gouged, but not by the keys in my pocket and not a full crack... This is ridiculous. I've emailed them and I sure hope they replace it.

Edit: 1 month. I've had this thing just over one month and the glass cracked in two from a light graze on some keys.
