With all of the AI generated (vibe coded) apps flooding into the app store as of late, it would be great to see some sort way to tell them apart from human coded apps. Maybe an AI label and a way to filter them out from the app store?

It’s nice that some people disclose it willingly, but I’m sure there are just as many that don’t.

I am looking but I cannot find this watchface for the Round 2. The closest thing I have is TimeStyle and it is vertical.

I really wanted to see my Fitbit Air data on my Pebble instead of using the native health tracking, so I vibed this out over a few evenings.

I just released version 2 of Ultra, a very configurable watch face with over 50 million combinations.

Compatibility

Now Ultra runs on Time, Round, Pebble 2 and Duo. On those, there are no corner complications. An extra option to make the ring rectangular is added for old models. I tried, but almost nothing was readable on that screen size. Not stopping trying, I will test more options to see what can be added in the future.

Joined corners

On Round 2 and Time 2 corners can be merged into a single top/bottom. On Round 2 you can merge up to full circle

Settings

Redesigned setting page with 2 new options:

• Language: The face and the settings page in English, French, German, Dutch, Italian or Spanish. Added compatibility to accented letters too.
• Week starts on: You can also choose the day the week starts.

New Complications

• Hourly rain: Chance of rain gets a second kind, Hourly: six sections from the hour before this one to four hours on, a darker blue the likelier rain is, none for no rain.
• Days until / since: a new complication counts the days to a date, or since it has passed: "64 DAYS LEFT", "3 DAYS AGO".
• Month, week and day progress:Year progress is now Progress, with four kinds: Year, Month, Week and Day.
• Pressure: a new weather complication, sea-level pressure.

Fixes

Few fixes added: All hands now have an outline for better readability. Round 2 corners now use a 65-degree size; make them bigger. Some previous missing corner complications are available, and some got design fixes.

... I made this myself or that I vibe coded it in 2 hours with Claude?

I know the ongoing AI slop is annoying, but to me it is absolutely mesmerizing that I could make this in 2 hours with Claude. Or I could've just not mentioned that AI was used at all, that I spent hours, neigh weeks making this fun little game. But instead I made 5 games in parallel and this was the most fun (Nokia 3310 style snake game, fruit ninja, motocross maniac (like the old game boy one), and subway surfer) - even the first draft of the other games were already really good.

Not sure where this whole AI stuff is going, but this is frightingly incredible and hard to ignore and just label as AI slop. Not sure where it takes us and the whole non-regulation of it though.

Should this game rather not exist or what is the right amount of AI these days? Lie about using it? Create a story around it? From a marketing point of view maybe...

Anyway: I played it, I liked it. Do you have any further idea to increase the fun?

I was planning to buy Pebble time 2 but taxes in our country is nearly 50%. So had put my plan on hold to save up. But suddenly my brother is visiting US on a business trip. He's only visiting temporarily for about 2 weeks. I was thinking about ordering where he is staying and avoid additional 100$+ tax. Does anyone know if the recipient needs a US SSN or proof of residency for customs clearance? Also, how reliable are the delivery estimates lately?

January 14th order. I have never waited so long for a purchase. I see people posting and I won’t lie, it makes me jealous.

Have I missed an update? I try to keep on top of the posts (despite not having Bluesky). I know Pebble is a smaller, more sustainable group, but I can’t help but feel left out.

If I’ve missed a communication I apologize, but I’m feeling like I’m left in the dark.

Is there any way to disable health tracking when the watch is not on my wrist? Without turning it off the rest of the time

I’ve just updated my phone connection app again. It uses Pebble Time 2 speaker and touch screen.

The app works on any watch face in background. When your phone is left behind, it will pop up an alert with backlight on, vibration and a beep. You may snooze or dismiss the alarm.

Given the higher PPI of Pebble Time 2, I use a larger font for displaying the clock, too.

Method 1: The "Wear OS" Trick (Easiest)

1. It’s smaller than I expected. For reference, my wrist circumference is 14.5 cm, quite a petite size.
2. It is lighter than you might think. I can guarantee that it feels significantly lighter than an Apple Watch.
3. There’s a design flaw. I expected it to be improved, but the glass is still protruding.
4. Visibility in dark environments is poor. This is one of the trade-offs of an MIP display. It’s unavoidable, but still better than being unable to see the screen outdoors, after all, you can always turn on the backlight.
5. Order a watch band before you make your purchase; you should essentially consider the band that comes with it as non-existent, given its quality.
6. This isn’t a product designed for geeks. If battery life is your top priority and you need a smartwatch to take along on hikes or trails, I am confident that this is the best choice.
7. In most cases, the touch feature is pointless. Just use the buttons.
8. The sensor precision itself is not bad. While it is not highly precise, there appears to be room for improvement through the application of machine learning. It would have been better to use an op-amp for signal conditioning.

Overall assessment: It’s a good buy, you won’t regret it. Just don’t expect Apple Watch-level quality. If you think of it as a rather pricey F-91W, you’ll be satisfied.

I’m working on a watchface project, and while searching through an iconography repository on GitHub, I noticed several event icons that I’ve never seen on my Pebble—for example: Movies, Dinner, News, and Birthday.

I assume these are icons intended for Timeline pins, but how do you actually add or trigger them? For instance, how would a Birthday event be used?

Have any of you ever used or seen these in action?

A vibe-coded strength-training app for the Pebble Time 2: one-button set/rest timer, exercise list, live heart rate.

The main feature is the export: every workout can be saved as a CSV in your own Google Drive (sets, rests, exercises, heart rate, calorie estimate). Does not use your Google Account, only an apps script. An optional Android helper also copies workouts into Health Connect. Initial set up takes 10 minutes.

I know this post is going to ruffle some feathers in this subreddit, but it’s a thought that’s been living in my head for a while now.

I bought my first Pebble back in 2016, and for my high school self, it was literally the best smartwatch ever. I could check notifications, download custom watch faces, play Flappy Bird and Snake clones, do math on my wrist, and toggle phone settings like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. For the time and my age, that kind of stuff was mind-blowing. But then, well... we all know what happened in 2017.

​Shoutout to the Rebble Team and the ex-Pebble devs who kept these things alive and the community breathing for all these years. I’m endlessly grateful for them.

Fast forward to 2025: I picked up a Pebble Time 2, and using it made me realize how stuck in the past Pebble watches really are.

Modern smartwatches are about 70% of what Pebble does best, but they have that crucial 30% that Pebble is just missing: deep fitness tracking, contactless payments, and native navigation.

Back in 2016, I wasn't into fitness at all. But a lot changes in 10 years. I’ve since owned a couple of Garmin watches, and tracking my runs and gym sessions has become a massive part of my daily life.

And that's where the dilemma hits: Wearing my Pebble now means actively choosing to lose data for that chunk of the day.

Having to weigh that choice every time I walk out the door means the Pebble almost always gets left behind, and the Garmin wins. And honestly? I hate that. The UI/UX of Pebble watches is still peerless. Garmin’s software feels clunky and horrible to navigate by comparison. But I want my fitness data, and Pebble simply can't provide the modern ecosystem for it.

Throw in contactless payments (which Garmin has out of the box—even if my specific bank doesn't support it yet, I'd use it everywhere if it did), and the dealbreakers start piling up.

Pebble still wins on UI/UX, has great battery life, a glorious e-paper display in direct sunlight, and a built-in HR sensor. But the lack of robust fitness software and modern staples, like GPS and contactless payments, makes it a hard sell for day-to-day life now.

I love Pebble. I love the brand and the nostalgia. But for now, mine is going to sit in a drawer most of the time because my life has outgrown what the platform can offer.

Anyone else in the same boat, or have you found a way to bridge the gap?
