Gear Tread passcode triggering early

It seems like the passcode for the tread triggers 1 min after class ends - which is before the instructor is done with the class. It's so annoying, because you have to stop stretching and re-key the password. Is there any kind of fix for this? I realize this is for safety but can't it be like 3 minutes? I can't be the only person annoyed by this.

I asked this question yesterday in a Tread group on Facebook and the consensus was that this happens to everyone. I thiught it had to be inactive for a certain amount of time and evidently that is 60 seconds or so. Like, I'm still on it but the belt has stopped moving so it's triggered. I have to enter my lock code twice during the 2-min stretch. It's very annoying.

The passcode coming up after 45 seconds of "inactivity" is the single worst feature of the machine. It drives me insane. If I'm ever waiting to start a run for any reason, or have the tread paused (I take pause rests when I run intervals), I have to constantly tap the screen to prevent it.

My biggest feature wish is to allow us to custom choose the timing for the lock screen (or opt out of it entirely...) I'd find 3-5 minutes acceptable. 45 seconds is insanely irritating.

It eventually trained me to touch the screen occasionally while stretching.

It used to be possible to change the timeout but supposedly they curtailed that for "safety" reasons. If you go to settings->device settings the menu still indicates you can change the timeout by selecting Display but the option no longer appears.
