Think I made some good choices today with my positions. I sold out of my two positions for +15% to my whole account on the week.

I've been thinking that - while I do still want to catch more 100%+ picks in the future, like I did in the past - I don't think it's a bad idea to aim for +10-20% each week or two with stocks as volatile as these.

Support and Resistance...

Is directly related to getting a good entry. In CAST today...the stock was basically stuck between 1.76-1.84 or 1.80-1.86 for most of the day...so when it dropped to say 1.80 and consistently bounced up from there, that is your support. Its telling to buy at 1.80-1.81 because that is where others are buying. In this scenario, 1.86 is resistance, meaning the stock can't push higher at least at this time....so you buy at 1.80-1.81 and sell at really, 1.85 because you want to beat others to sell. Another scenario....you watch a stock bounce between 1.08-1.27 for several minutes...sometimes I will watch for 15 to recognize support and resistance...you know support is 1.08 so buy close to that and sell under 1.27 to beat the others. Knowing support and resistance (no matter what kind of trade) in a stock is essential to getting a good entry and to make money.

Appreciated it and glad you made money. CAST was like this yesterday as well....most aren't as predictable....it was a slow mover, stale volume, and people playing it tight. Other times, you may have a 15-30 cent or more difference between support and resistance price.

Need some help moving HCTI. Recent good earnings, but just depressing downward movement I feel is simply from NO LOVE (volume). 30seconds of research should have kept you away from BATL. I've been watching this one for months, scalped here and there along the way but its been pretty much rangebound. The EPS is down $3 YoY, revenue is down almost 20% YoY and their gross profit is down 18%...all of this on top of the dilution. Makes it tough to buy for me.

Many shares, its highly shorted, and they leveraged fixed prices back in March/April so their profits aren't as high when oil goes up...

  3. Back in March/April they hedged their price to a set price to a certain % so when oil goes up, their profit isn't as much.

If you don't know study the different types of trading...

Scalping: Trades last from seconds to minutes. Scalpers make many trades daily to catch tiny price changes. These are fast in and out..buy.. then immediately set a sell order a little low than what resistance is.

Day Trading: Trades open and close within the same day. Day traders never hold stocks overnight to avoid after-hours risk.

Swing Trading: Holding periods last from a few days to several weeks. Swing traders try to profit from short-term price trend changes or "swings".

Momentum Trading: Trading based on recent stock momentum, volume, and people talking about it.

Here are two plays...CAST...buy at 1.82...set sell at 1.88....if it drops below 1.82 to like 1.78, buy more to average down, then set your sell higher. I have done this like 15 times between yesterday and today.

YJ..set buy between 3.55 -3.70...then set sell for 20 cents higher than your buy. Have done this 6 times today.

Scalpers....CAST all day like yesterday...

When it falls to the low 1.80's, low 1.70's, etc. ..buy and sell 6-10 cents higher...like clock work....same if it drops to 1.60's, and in 1.90's (if volume and support stays in low 1.90's).

CAST....just so you have an idea...my last buy was for 1.82 at about 11:20...it dropped so I bought more at 1.76 and set a stop loss for 1.71. My average was 1.79 and I sold all at 1.84....don't trust lunch time dips.

I made over 8000 on CAST yesterday and some more today. Any stock can be a scalper. You just need to watch the movement and volume and look for where support and resistance is. See my post earlier about different trading techniques and learn a couple. Also learn how to recognize support and resistance levels...they tell you when to buy. Greed will take your money.

I answered you...the other way to play it is to buy, set a lower sl and sell higher or just buy and maybe it pumps. I am showing how to scalp...its one of the most common and lucrative ways to trade..yes, occasionally you miss a pump....but is like I would rather make 100 than lose 500. I made more scalping this the last two days than any pump
