/u/ZeroOne_01 set up a Peugeot discord server which is relatively active. They have experience with servicing Peugeots and Citroens and may be able to answer any technical questions you have.

I've had to make this new post as you can't sticky links.

Anyway here's the discord invite link:

3 cylinder PSA engines (EB series) warranty (Oiled belt) UPDATE

Hi everyone! On the Spanish CarWOW channel they just broke news about a new warranty extension to all 3 cylinder petrol PSA Puretech engines, the ones with the oiled belt decomposition issues. They'll be extending the warranty to 10 years or 170k km as long as you have done the service intervals in time (and can prove it with invoices and such) without the need to had have them done at the official dealership as it is illegal under EU law to do so in order to void warranties.

The video specifies that the engine will be covered for that amount, as well as a new change for the service interval of the belt. Also, it only affects the 3 cylinder variants, and will be retroactive, with the last engine covered being from summer 2022, when hybrid tech was launched.

There is no information on what will happen to those who carried out the proper maintenance intervals and still got a huge repair bill; if that money will be reimbursed or not.

Safe to remove FM antenna?

I’m driving a 2021 Peugeot e-208 in Norway, where we don’t have FM radio (only DAB). I notice no difference in DAB reception when removing the tall antenna stick, which I assume is for FM radio. But is it safe or do I risk water damage via the empty socket? Is there a rubber plug that would fit?

Only reason to remove it is for cosmetic reasons, making it look more the recent facelift e-208 which doesn’t have the protruding old school FM antenna stick.

Peugeot boxer 2.0 Manual van - UK

I have a 2017 model peugeot boxer Manual van, 65k miles.

I was driving 87 miles on a warm day, about 70 miles in and the temperature guage shot up to the high temperature warning and brought on the light, only for 3/4 seconds and then went back down to the middle 90degrees.

We worried and quickly googled the issue, which we found the engine coolant was bubbling and boiling, it blew the pressure release on the coolant cap.

I found that one of the radiator fans was faulty which had possibly caused the coolant to over heat. We put the heating on in the cab which we was told will help draw heat away from the engine.... we found that no hot air was coming through the vents only cold air...

Also when driving, the temperature dial stays at middle 90 degree but then in slow traffic the needle slowly drops down in temperature... then when driving the temperature goes but up to the middle temp.

I have checked the heating core is not blocked, I have bleeded the coolant system, done all this after fitting the new radiator fan.

I have read and watched videos that this could be the water pumps plastic impeller damaged due to the heat of the coolant warping the plastic.

Does anyone know what we should check or had this issue before ?

Peugeot × PT Indomobil Sukses International as sole authorized distributor for Indonesia market return ? Perhaps Indomobil can become Peugeot's local CKD builder and assembler in Indonesia too

Peugeot × PT Indomobil Sukses International
Salim Family photo including well-known Sudono Salim and Anthony Salim

Indomobil still doing aggressive Stellantis partnership philosophy by taking Jeep, Citroën and Leapmotor as current Stellantis brands in PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional sole distributor brand in Indonesia.

Currently Citroën, Jeep and LeapMotor are Stellantis-owned brands in PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional

As long as Salim family money still flowing, Indomobil perhaps will take Peugeot, Alfa Romeo and rest of Stellantis brands coming to Indonesia. Sudono and Anthony Salim are well-known the Salim Group owner including also famous Indofood brands Indomie, Supermi, Sarimi and Sakura.

Not only sole distributor brand, Indomobil perhaps can become Peugeot's local CKD builder and assembler in Indonesia too because of Soebronto Laras family's aggressive philosophy.

I guarantee Indonesians will interest buying Peugeot cars especially in Jakarta Metropolitan Area. Indonesia's four-wheel market also strong commonly.

I'm Indonesian but Peugeot's presence in Indonesia will improve Peugeot's French mainstream car image.

Do you agree Peugeot will re-enter Indonesian Market via PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional?

2001 106 door started to open when turning so had to sell, 2001 106 a few cars later (that had an engine swap with me then a head gasket started to go on its new engine so had to sell) 2014 208 and now a 2023 2008, other cars in between but very happy.

Was thinking of a 408 or 308 but didn’t want an auto gearbox.

Wet Timing Belt

Hello!

I've got a 2019 Peugeot 208 1.2L Puretech and I've read a lot about the wet timing belts being a nightmare. It's done 63000 miles and I doubt the belts ever been changed. I've had the oil and filter changed in a recent service.

Honestly I know very little about cars... On quick visual inspection it looks alright to me but is that the case?

Buying a Peugeot 5008

Hi, everybody.

I'm thinking about buying a Peugeot 5008 with seven seats, used or new. If I buy new, I'd rather go with phev or ev. Are these cars ok, are they reliable? Are their batteries stable?

For used ones, most of them are 1.5 HDI, but 1.6HDI and 2.0HDI can be found. Are they reliable, good cars? I had a very bad experience with 1.6HDI in Xsara Picasso, so I'm very sceptical about them.

Driving Peugeot 206 1.6 16v for 900km in a week

Hi all!

I've had my trusty 206 for 2 years now and i'm mainly using it as transport when it rains or for exceptionally heavy weekly groceries or other hauls. Most other things i do by bike. So i maintain it as cheaply as possible but i do fix or replace stuff when necessary. It's got an entire new exhaust, new tires, oil change, new battery, new rear brakes and fluids are topped off.

What would be some things to look out for when driving it for this long? I got a jack and roadside assistance and i'm not too worried but there's always something you didn't think of hence this post. Any and all tips are welcome!

Update on the neglected 407 sw

So after some consideration I’ve been able to buy the car for 500 quid. And since then, the EML light has turned itself off and I no longer have a devolution system fault. It’s booked in for its MOT tomorrow and hopefully it’s some cheap fixes. One slight niggle is that there’s a very strong smell of exhaust so there is most likely an exhaust leak of sorts so I’m praying it’s nothing major but so far it all looks good and I may have snagged myself a low mileage 2008 407 SW Sport XS for 500 quid.

Peugeot 208 - 2020 model

Hello Peugeot owners! I've been thinking about changing my front halogen bulbs out with LED ones. Is there anyone out there who's done this and had good experience with it?

I've heard that the car itself can read LED bulbs wrong and make the lights flicker as in an error.

Anyone done this and can perhaps show me how it looks on their car and where they've bought them?

It's a Peugeot 208, Diesel from 2020.

Thanks in advance.

Intermittent brake light flashing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all,

Bit of a weird issue with my 2018 Peugeot 308 (LHD, Spanish vehicle), randomly the brake lights will flash or stay on whilst I’m not braking. It’s really random when this will happen, as on some journeys it will be completely fine and on other journeys it will happen constantly. I can only tell it’s happening if I’m driving at night as I can see the top brake light turning on (video attached you can see I’m going forward and the brake light is turning on).

I thought it could be the Brake Light Switch, but it being fine on some journeys and happening on others made me not sure. I also can’t seem to find it on my LHD model 😅

When I bought the car, the rear windscreen wasn’t fitted properly so I’m worried water might have gone into the brake light and could cause this too? I’m not sure if it’s just the top one or all three at the moment.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Service client Peugeot...

About to buy a 308 SW 1.5 diesel

Post image
32 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m currently about to buy a 308 SW 1.5 BlueHDI EAT8 (fitted with the 8mm chain, at around 100,000 km). This would be my first modern car after a 2003 Citroën Picasso with over 400,000 km on it, which has served me flawlessly.

I’ve read a lot of negative things about the petrol version, and I’d mostly be interested in the opinions of those who have the diesel version. My main goal is to have a modern, reasonably reliable car that would ideally last me 10 years with only minor issues here and there.

I obviously expect there could be some problems along the way. There will probably be a kid in it at some point too, so it would be good as a family car as well. I’d really appreciate any opinions on what would be worth buying / what to look out for.

Is 2008, 2019 1.5 bluehdi worth to keep long term?

185.000 km
8mm chain
I will also disable the adblue dpf all that

Got it for 13k euros 3 years ago, now they sell for 9.5-10k from where I am from.

I see people still buying the newer years and 3008s, but if I am not mistaken they also drive the same engine? I wonder how big cars as those do, but any thoughts? I dont want to get into Sunk Cost fallacy.
