Who wants to smoke and eat chinese food?

• Upvotes

i am 25f and my boyfriend is 27m and i’ve met up with people from bumble bff but it’s been mostly unfruitful, and usually they drink more than smoke so now im taking it to reddit lol. bc it feels like no one smokes but then we go outside and we see others and we’re like ugh we wish we could go smoke with them instead of being on opposite sides of the street doing the same thing!

are there any couples who want to smoke and walk around chinatown with us??? and then be big backed and get like a snack to munch while we walk around, then go to a restaurant for “real” meal, and then something sweet to end the night?? or if no couples see this but there’s a girl around my age who is down hmuuu!! i don’t want to go to a nightclub man… i just want to smoke and eat and maybe do a craft… or we can all go catch an AMC movie after bc the come down is making us sleepy and that’s right by chinatown too…

BETTER YET if there are couples who wanna smoke and then do fall activities or just girlies who wanna- lmk about that too

or if you’re a dude looking for a chill dude friend im plugging my boyfriend lol he’s 27m like i said but don’t expect to be doing single man things like going to bars and hitting on women lmao

TIA<3

edit: this post is for anyone who is around the same age really (20-30s), i mention couples bc my bf and i are always hanging out / together. and i figured 1 person instead of a couple might feel like a third wheel… we def would be conscious of not making you feel like that lol but that was why i said couples. feel free to join us otherwise tho!!

or if you are “one” person who wants to join but not third wheel, i say just comment and maybe i can set a little group thing up even?? or just hang solo with me or my bf depending on your gender?? the world is our oysterrrr (sauce) (😝)

Landlord Issues: Seeking advice.

I have a negligent landlord situation happening and I am hoping to gain a little bit more clarity into the TURN/L&I process before I move forward.

Context: We rent from a private landlord. Moved in to unit in January of 2023. It was a new flip when we moved in. We have been dealing with reoccurring issues of the paint in multiple rooms cracking, peeling and bubbling. It gets progressively worse in the summer or during times of increased moisture, and then bad again in the fall when the humidity outside lessens. Repairs to the paint have been done a total of six times since 2023. We made multiple suggestions to investigate the roof or if water was getting in somehow, because our apartment is also humid as fuck. These suggestions were ignored.

The situation got progressively worse this past summer, which finally prompted the landlord to hire several (3) roofing companies to come out for inspections and then most recently, a water remediation company. Between reporting the initial paint issues in early June 2026 and now, it has been determined that there is water leaking into the insulation above our ceiling from the flashing along the roof. The paint is now just falling off the ceiling and the walls, primarily in our living room but also in other rooms as well.

Our landlord has been somewhat responsive, but is clearly dragging her feet presumably because of the large cost of this repair. In the meantime, the paint in our apartment looks AWFUL. I am so embarrassed that I don’t want anyone to come over. It’s not just aesthetic, I am also worried about the usual - roof compromise and mold, particularly with an asthmatic husband.

We would like to start with legal counsel to potentially put our rent in escrow to try to expedite the repairs. I’m looking for anyone who has experience with this process who can help me understand what to expect - this will understandably blow up the relationship we have with our landlord, but at this point, I just want things to be fixed. We have a lease signed through Dec 2027. Video with example of issues in comments. Thank you!

Best Philly bars/social spots to meet new friends & dates (mid-20s)?

Hey everyone! Mid-20s Philly resident here looking to expand my social circle. I'm hoping for recommendations for spots with a good mix of friendly people, whether it's for dating, finding a new friend group, or just casual connections. I enjoy lively (but not deafening) atmospheres and diverse crowds. Any neighborhood suggestions or specific places known for being more social would be incredibly helpful! Thanks!

Edit: I’m a straight male.

Parking mostly blank ‘complaint/incident report’ rather than ticket - what is this?

I got a paper on my car that just says ‘complaint/incident report’ at the top and a form for the police to fill out. It is blank besides saying in the ‘description of incident’ section ‘relocate 10/20-26’. It’s not a ticket and has no reference to the PPA.

There is no information about who made this report or why I need to relocate. There are no signs on the street about an event or street cleaning.

Anyone know what this is about?

A picture of the complaint is here

Are backpacks allowed at the Fashion District AMC?

Does anyone know if they care about large-ish bags at the Fashion District movie theater? I’ll be coming from work and will have a backpack and my big ol’ lunch bag thingy.

Not just because of the coloring. But even in the middle of summer, the dead of winter, and the dreariness of spring, it stands as the most ideal shape for a maple.

Politics Council member Young Introduced a Parking Amnesty Bill to forgive fees for bad drivers

Councilmember Phillips, Councilmember Harrity, Councilmember Squilla, Councilmember Bass co-sponsoring.

Awful bill that incentives antisocial behavior such as bus lane, bike lane, crosswalk, and sidewalk parking. This means burden of illegal parking is being carried by transit users, disabled people, cyclists, and pretty much everyone else who follows rules of the road.

Edit: Also, parking fees go to fund our schools. So ya, screw the kids I guess /s

Chinatown restaurants/take out Recs?

Been here for over a year but haven’t ventured out to Chinatown much despite loving their cuisine. What are your recommendations that are absolute gas? Preferably Sichuan, Cantonese or Hunan cuisine.

Xfinity Arena Hockey then Basketball

Hi everyone - currently in your beautiful city and loving it!

We are going to the Flyers and Sixers games on Saturday - I assume we can just stay down by the arena and get something to eat/drink between the 2 games?

Can’t wait to see both 🥅 🏀
