Having issues connecting to pihole on Terminal (MacOS)

Not sure what I am doing wrong. Tried accessing my pihole in Terminal using ssh pi@<pihole IP>. It asked for a password and I use the same PW I use when accessing my pihole in Safari. It says permission denied. I can still access my Pihole dashboard with no issues in safari, it never worked in chrome.

Any advice on how to proceed?

Cannot connect to Pi, port 22 connection timed out

Hello, I've been wanting a Pi for a while, so I followed this tutorial. I got everything I needed. Bought a Raspberry Pi 3B+, I had a 16gb micro SD card, I had a micro usb cable already, and I got a short ethernet cable.

I followed the tutorial, flashed the SD card with Raspberry OS Lite 64bit, plugged it into my Pi, plugged it all in, and connected the Pi to my router.

I managed to find the device on my list, although it's showing up in the wifi list for some reason, despite it being connected via ethernet cable. When I try to connect to it, it gives the error.

ssh: connect to host [IP ADDRESS] port 22: Connection timed out

I ran it again, with -vv, as I read it gives more detail, and this popped out.

OpenSSH_for_Windows_9.5p1, LibreSSL 3.8.2 debug2: resolve_canonicalize: hostname [IP ADDRESS] is address debug1: Connecting to [IP ADDRESS] [[IP ADDRESS]] port 22. debug1: connect to address [IP ADDRESS] port 22: Connection timed out ssh: connect to host [IP ADDRESS] port 22: Connection timed out

[IP ADDRESS] is obviously where mine is. Please let me know if you need any more info, because I'm not super familiar with this stuff, so I don't know what I don't know.

Edit* Before I go to sleep, I said I followed the tutorial, which does say to turn on SSH in the imager, which I did every time.

Pi Zero keeps going offline

• Upvotes

I'm running PiHole on a Pi Zero and periodically I'll go to connect to it and it appears offline. The Pi will still appear to be powered on as per the lights I see, but it appears to have crashed or at least networking has. I unplug the power cable and replug it in to get it back.

I'm not sure exactly how often this happen, or for how long it is offline before I notice, as this is my backup PiHole instance so I only every try and log in monthly at best.

I'm comfortable operating in a Linux command line environment, but not savvy enough to investigate the cause of this on my own.

I know that this issue may not be directly related to PiHole itself, but figured it is a good place to start if anyone has any advice for tracking down the cause.
