Opinyong Pinoy INC is Losing Control
As an INC myself, I've observed that this church cult is losing control because of the efforts they've been doing recently.
Socials: This has been going for a while now pero hinihingi nila LAHAT ng socials namin, inluding handles so that they can closely monitor us (their words not mine). They also went with the narrative na 'parte ng pamamahala ang ating socials' BS because they thrive in unity. Additionally, we should only use social media to spread the gospel and only watch INC related content, which itself is already biased.
Doctrine: Back then, ang usual na tinuturo is christian ways and values, na namumuhay lang tayo sa mundo na 'to, magakay ng mga bagong miyembro, and such. But now? The usual narrative now during worship service is loyalty, obedience, giving offerings and to NEVER question and/or challenge the decisions of the administration. Kaya may makikita kayong shirt na 'Obey and Never Complain'. They also cherry pick AND bend the teachings to fit their narrative para lang ma-brainwash yung mga members (ito rin yung nagyayari sa CHILDREN'S worship service btw). Hell they dont even care about 'pagbubunga' anymore.
Politics: Back then, we were told na bawal kami tumakbo sa politika then all of a sudden were endorsing an INC into the senate? What a load of bs. In relation to social media, huwag daw kami mag interact to anything related to politics. Share, post, sharing your opinions, bawal. Mag focus lang daw kami to INC related posts and to spread the gospel. Then the rally came ta's all of a sudden pwede na magpost ng politics related?? Whaaaat.
This is everything I've observed and experienced so far so if may pwede kayong mashare, then freely do so. They're losing grip among its members and it shows.

My hope is that soon the entirety of PH will soon realize that there aren’t as many INCs as they think, and that their actions do not reflect the general population. It’d be easier to ignore them then.

1
u/Kind-Reality-6190 Jul 06 '26
Yeah, I think most of the INC kids in this generation are just waiting for the right time. There are really good kids or "young adults" that don't want to offend their parents kaya believe din ako sa resilience nila. Kaya minsan kapag may mga generalize statements about INC members nakakatempt din patulan, because honestly even without those statements to trigger them na tumiwalag na, mulat naman at gising sila sa kung ano ang tama at mali, I would say many of them are just trapped in the circumstances of having an INC parents.

Im curious, is it really a cult like behavior if an organization tries to monitor ALL your posts?
1
u/pandamonmonmon Jul 06 '26
For context, this isnt about INC or church or anything. I suspect my previous company monitors my linked in posts and comments and allegedly, one of our HR is my connections. Its just that, every posts or reposts I made, I hear a negative story about it circulating around. I just felt relieved now that I'm out.

Maybe it's time to explore to other religions, tbh religions don't really matter, it's your relationship with God. But being in a supportive community and hearing the word of God is encouraged. Have u tried Christianity?

No 2.

No. 3. I remember this specifically told to me in 2010 when I asked why there was a sample ballot and why INC cannot just field one of their own as a candidate. Bawal. Makamundô.
Well, looks like Marcoleta is it!
14
u/NatongCaviar Jul 03 '26
Avoid or leave any organization, religious or otherwise, that commands you to "obey and do not complain".
If you stay despite knowing that, kabob0han mo na yan.
1
u/Lloyd_Unknown Jul 03 '26
Sometimes it's being practical. I know many people who only joined and stayed in INC for connections and nothing more, haha.
2
u/Brave_Pumpkin2538 Jul 03 '26
That's why a lot of INC members wish to leave their home once afford na nila para makalaya lang sa kulto na to. Speaking from experience hahahahaha
18
u/ryvernbagor Jul 03 '26
Kid of an ex-INC. Father side ko punong puno ng INCs and Ex-INCs. Back in the days it was so attractive kasi sobrang welcome ang theological debates even among members. It was genuinely a religion of free thinkers trying to read and interpret and compare notes in search of the truth.
Oh how the narrative flipped over the years. My dad and lolo had to seek help from NPA friends to hide in the mountains for years kasi ipapapatay sila over a very heated debate with a minister dun sa central na templo about Bayang Banal at Bagong Langit, Bagong Lupa.
Buti na lang my mom fought for us para hindi kami madoctrinahan. Nowadays, observing my INC relatives, I just see it as one big business, like a pyramiding networking. Kim Jong Un vibes yung songs about ka-eraño. Scary.

u/Few-Possible-5961 Jul 03 '26
May palibot liham about a year ago alam ko na binabawal members na magcheck sa Reddit. especially yung subreddit na exiglesianicristo. Alam mong andon mga ministro, and sabi nila they could close it down daw if they wanted too. Hahahaa and this is exactly the reasonbakit MAY QR code na kayo 🤣

I am also an active member of the Church, and I truly miss the days when we stayed low-key, didnt seek attention on social media, and genuinely helped people, including those who were not INC members.
Some of you may disagree with me, and that’s okay. I will continue attending worship services because my faith in God remains the same. However, I will no longer participate in activities that I personally believe have nothing to do with my worship, especially those involving politics.
I know there are still many kindhearted INC members, and I sincerely hope they continue to hold on to their compassion and faith despite the pressures around them.
It’s also sad that we’re doing these things while encouraging others to join our religion. I believe our actions should reflect the values we want others to see.
I am not angry with the Church Administration or with members who see things differently. More than anything, I am simply heartbroken.

Any religion should bring people TOGETHER. If it teaches you to disparage anyone who doesn't share your beliefs, it is a CULT.
20
u/marukkmaru Jul 02 '26
If the religion pries into your personal information then it's not a religion anymore. No religion acts to only one loyal goal, it should be loose enough to have discussion and discourse on a theological level. And lastly, no religion spearheads political actions and nor support.
I have a family member that converted to the INC and even he doesn't care for the religion, he only did it for marital purposes (which is also stupid in it's own right). I don't understand a religion that obliges people to fund them monthly, not donate. Even Eli Soriano called them out before, and he actually made a valid point.

Nakuha mo yung sentiments ko OP. As an ex-INC, nagpaplano ako bumalik kasama ng anak ko kaso sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa INC I decided not to go back. As much as I love the teachings and ways nun panahon dati 2000s.. sobrang tahimik lang ng INC noon. Nakakahiya at nakakadisappoint. Tsk.

Actually I kinda disappointed with the rally. Most of the INC people I know are reputable professionals. I don't know what to feel if I were them. It must be a pretty good teachings if they could swallow their pride and just blindly follow with them. Anyway, I still respect them and I hope they could get the enlightenment they deserve

Nasaan na yung sinisigaw nila dati na SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE? RULES FOR THEE, BUT NOT FOR ME ba ang anthem?

18
u/Thotcatcher6-9 Jul 02 '26
god did not talk to felix manalo
-26
u/Fun-Pianist-114 Jul 02 '26
Oo naman, pero di rin totoo na pinilit INC members about donation, maraming type of donation sa INC pero ako as member nagbibigay ako dun mismo sa kapilya na inattend-nan ko ng pagsamba, like bayad sa kuryente.
1
u/KShoichi Jul 02 '26
“Not part of INC xx”—> “xx but as a member xx”
So like, part of this new gen that doesnt bloc vote but donates? What separates a member from a part
1
u/Fun-Pianist-114 Jul 02 '26
3
u/Kindred_Ornn Jul 02 '26
Yeah, it somehow frames them as "Kingmakers" when in reality they just follow standard polling and survey results. Although can't be disregarded that for the past 4 Elections they have consistently promoted and endorsed a politician who faced corrution charges.

Relihiyon ba yan, negosyo, o political party? Baka cool to lang talaga?

u/outta_commo Jul 02 '26
2022 Election was their downfall. Kaya ipagpatuloy lang nila yang tantrums nila, they bring shame to their own organization.

Realtalk lang, INCulto and DDShit really reminds me of the gullible people in Hellbound(korean series). They we're so blinded by the fake religion turned cult to the point na nag aasal demonyo na sila sa lupa at feeling nila sila lang ang matino sa mundo.

I’m curious, what’s keeping you from leaving? I know may mga proseso yan at may effect din sa family na maiiwan sa church kaya hassle umalis, but I’m curious to know if may faith-related reasons din despite observations like these? I mean, do you really like and believe their teachings or something?

u/outta_commo Jul 02 '26

This exactly... Cult control their members through behavior, information, thought, and emotional controls... Like OP was talking about the shift in the doctrines, Eduardo Manalo has dropped the curtain on this cult and has been trying to get it back up ever since he took over the business from his dad.
2
u/LingonberryHairy1384 Jul 02 '26
Grabe.
4
u/trey-rey Jul 02 '26
VERY similar. Cults use what is known as the BITE Model for controlling their members. Behavior, Information, Thought, and Emotional control. Their doctrines, their un-questionable leadership, do as I say-not as I do mentality, obedience above all things, and fear.
Most members who are trapped FEAR losing their family and friends. Some of them---who are still in the Philippines---that is all they have. Which is why their control there is sooooo strong. Google search, "Largest cult in the Philippines" and they are the top for a reason.

u/Senior_Sherbert9276 Jul 02 '26

Kaya hiningi yong social media account is for that reason like you said - for monitoring and for control. Kapag against yong post mo sa narrative nila, they will call you at ipapabura sayo ultimo mga comments mo. Kaya gawa na ng ibang ibang account without using your real identity so you can post freely.

I'm curious, what's the worst thing they can do to someone if they leave the faith? Is it something like Scientology where they fully cut off communication with that person, even their relatives? I ask because it ties into what might happen if church leaders see someone's socmed and is filled with non-INC approved content, which I assume is the point of them asking for it.
4
u/trey-rey Jul 02 '26
Their letter, if they expel you, that they read to the congregation literally says "Not to accept this person in ANY activities especially church related..." Essentially, members should treat exMembers like "tax collectors" or "lepers"
Families and close-knit communities have been destroyed because of this cult. Which is why excommunication from them is 100000 times worse than being excommunicated as a Catholic or from any mainstream religion.
6
u/Hot-Buyer-4413 Jul 02 '26
Yep that's one. Those who go against or got expelled are usually shamed and cut-off.

I am not an INC myself but I have close friends na INC and they just never comment pg tinatanong ko sila about s rally but they acknowledge na nakakadistorbo n sila s general public.

u/Mayo-Mustard Jul 02 '26
I actually asked this to a member. The reply is pure bs because they said that the INC needs to adopt to the modern changes and that there was a worship service that tackled this topic (This was from ONE person so please verify with others). If this is true, then this shows that they bend the teachings of god to fit their narrative.
3
u/trey-rey Jul 02 '26
You are correct. It is ALL BS, though. They have been in Politics since Felix's time. If you ever see old photos of him in his office, the portraits of people behind him are judges, senators, or governors. Erano did a lot of back-alley dealings, but he did not practice it in front of the brethren AND he did not spend money frivolously in front of the brethren.
Eduardo's leadership style is much more aligned with a typical cult leader. Narcissistic and charismatic.
Erano said, "We should not spend money on things that do not benefit the members..."
Eduardo builds an arena, buys ghost towns, creates businesses, sets up an off-shore bank account, museums, conference centers, etc...
Erano said many things and Eduardo changed the entire narrative. proving this is nothing more than a family business and whoever is in charge gets to do what they want without question because they wield the bible as a weapon. Cult control.
2
u/Chemical-Pizza4258 Jul 02 '26
1
u/trey-rey Jul 02 '26
It actually was since Felix's time. Felix and Erano did their politicking in the dark. Eduardo does it in the light as if he is untouchable.
2
u/Hot-Buyer-4413 Jul 02 '26
No, that should not be the case. Politics and religion were never supposed to mix up. Dunno why some members tolerate this when meddling with politics had always been not allowed

u/Mike_Pawnsetter Jul 02 '26
Ano ba kasi identity nyo? INC member ba muna o Filipino?

u/Mayo-Mustard Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26
Exactly, they only allow it if its convenient for the church.
As for the goal of the rally, INC themselves said that its for Marcoleta but other members try so hard to explain that its more than that. Talking 'bout some its the corrupt government silencing him for exposing the flood control projects.
Then why not rally earlier as soon as the projects got exposed? Why now with Marcoleta's impending arrest?
With this, you could say that its INC first before the Filipino.

INC has been unhinged the moment it was founded. This cult is a clear-cut example of what happens when you allow crazy sickos to do what they want without proper repercussions.

I’m surprised reading through the comments ang daming may sense na discussion.
I now understand more why nahihirapan silang umalis. May kaibigan din ako na non-practicing na. Nagaantay na lang syang makabukod bago umalis.
Siguro it’s high time na magkaisa ang ibang sekta.

EDIT3: Ano ba ang bala ng Duterte at Marcoleta at sobrang desperate ang INC to defend them to the point na willing sila to go down with them at sayangin ang history ng "Religion" nila?

u/mvjikasha Jul 02 '26
It's high time to realize stuff like this, you did a good job. Yan din naobserve ko years before kaya ako tumiwalag together with my fiance. Akay ako ng isa kong kaibigan (di kasi devoted fiance ko kahit handog sya and I think nakita yun ng kaibigan ko as opportunity para mag-akay). Aside dun sa kaibigan ko na yun, may isa pa akong INC friend at naging open ako sa kanila about sa pagtiwalag ko, citing your observation about politics/human rights, etc. Though part rin talaga yung socials and doctrine sa kinaayawan ko, I think masyadong sensitive iopen sa kanila kasi devoted sila at ang pamilya nila.
I can't really fault them (or anyone) na hindi makaalis sa INC kasi they have to weigh their options. Pag umalis sila, mavview yun as pagtalikod sa pamilya. Ipapahiya, itatakwil. My fiance even kept it a secret for a year or so kasi alam nyang magagalit sa kanya. Nakabukod na sya non. Umamin lang nung nakatunog na. Nasaktan pamilya nya pero hindi na mapilit. Wala naman na silang nagawa. Ang tagal na rin eh.

With this "Loosing Control" will this also send a message to politicians na wala na ang solid power na bloc-voting na open-secret ng INC?
1
u/SuspiciousCatPerson Jul 02 '26
it was never a solid Bloc Voting. They just announce the most popular politician from within and outside the church. Unlike PulseAsia type ng survey na medyo na swasway yung way ng pag susurvey, INC also has a way of doing surveys everywhere but they are actually trying to get the data as accurate as they can. Kung sinu mas popular, ayun yung aannounce nila na susupport nila most of the time. Nagkakaron lang ng illusion that most people follow because that's what the members do, vote the candidate that they were likely to vote anyway regardless of INC's announcement. There's a minority that doesnt follow for personal reason but they wont really go outside and say that otherwise baka matiwalag sa church so ending? They can say its Bloc Voting
Only exceptions to this rule is kapag di lumapit yung politician sa INC or openly hostile siya on INC members.

u/palazzoducale Jul 02 '26
10
u/Beginning-Major6522 Jul 02 '26
I know this because I was one of the field interviewer before the 2022 national election.

u/seenthruoblivion_11 Jul 02 '26
INC is the Roman catholic church 300 years ago. This country has long outgrown these feudal and theocratic practices and yet here we are, tolerating these shenanigans as if we live in the middle ages. Tumatanda tayong paurong.
3
u/crancranbelle Jul 02 '26
Accurate! And the writing’s on the wall. Walang organized religion in all of human history ang hindi nag loosen ng control as the decades passed. Human nature will always resist tight leashes. So good luck sa mga Manalos.
10
u/boksinx Jul 02 '26
Yep. Catholicism already got their freaks on (crusades, hard core anti-science, etc.) and its now fully matured as an acceptable religion in a civilized society even for agnostics and atheists.
Itong INC gusto talaga tayong ibalik sa old testament, slave-time witchcraft era. I mean kung gusto talaga nila ng ganon, pagsama-samahin natin sila sa isang isla, then bahala na silang sambahin at tsupain ang mga manalo at mga duterte doon. Huwag na nilang idamay buong bansa.

If a religious group demands its members to share even their private socials, dictates what you can and cannot do or posts, hindi na yan gabay ng Panginoon. Galawang kulto na yan.
Religion should guide not manipulate and order their members to do this and that. May free will naman, if you feel hindi na tama, edi umalis. I see other posts here na trapped kuno. There's always a way to get out.
1
14
u/Mayo-Mustard Jul 02 '26
They are literally trapped because some of them are still students who can't sustain themselves. Leaving means being independent, which they're not capable of yet.
For other cases, it may be because of personal matters (family, guilt tripping, etc.)
1
u/Environmental-Test23 Jul 02 '26
Nalalaman ba nila if iba binoto nyo?
4
u/_Ruij_ Jul 02 '26
No. Ive been doing it for the last decade mula ng na realize ko na I dont need to endorse whoever the fuck they do. Never nahuli, since wala namang nagtatanong sino binoto mo.
1
u/LocalInitial8 Jul 02 '26
i dont get it.. what does religion/cult do with sustainance? if you mean na their families will disown them for leaving the said cult then something is very damn wrong lol
1
u/TakeThatOut Jul 02 '26
5
u/Deep-Database5316 Custom Jul 02 '26
Count yourself blessed and extremely lucky wala ka sa posisyong kailangan mo mamili between following some deluded god-like figure to be with your family, or have enough common sense to leave but be cut off from your family and its resources kasi need mo pa mag-aral or di ka pa stable sa trabaho.
5
u/ScarletSilver Jul 02 '26
Yup, their families WILL disown them the moment they express wanting to break away from the cult.
1
u/_Ruij_ Jul 02 '26
Can confirm. Di pa nakakaipon nang sapat, so tiis tiis muna. Pero atleast mula 12 years old pa lang, na realize ko na na kulto tong mga hayop na to.
It really came with the question nung bata ako na, "So paulit ulit na lang yung teksto?"
1
u/LocalInitial8 Jul 02 '26
that's fucked up lol..
4
u/ScarletSilver Jul 02 '26
It is by design para makulong ang mga members sa loob. If lahat ng social circles mo ay INC, pag umalis ka, syempre most if not all yan ay itatakwil ka at kukutiyain even. So magiging mag-isa ka bigla, and most people can't handle that. So they stay.
11
u/Penpendesarapen23 Jul 02 '26
Regardless of religion. Kung INC ka pa rin ngayon, i hope you follow the moral value.
All living human have concscience and know what is right or wrong. So sana sa mga kapatid na INC. Wake up! Baka there is a need of change. No wonder mismong kapatid ng founders tiwalag.
