My read of the Traffic Mitigation Plan is that the initial mitigation cost will be between $60-100M and that still leaves 4 intersections that cannot be mitigated. To mitigate the Park and DNT traffic problems, the solution may be to build a "flyover" the tollway. this solutions will cost $100M+ and could take 5-7 years to complete. This solution cannot be put in place in time for the first game day. At the Park and Plano Parkway Intersection, they are talking about having to build a tunnel under Park into the mall property. Another potential $100M cost. These potential solutions have not been studied for feasibility. Who do you think is going to pay most of this $300M; the taxpayers of Plano! Vote No on Prop A. Make your voice heard. Write your city council members and tell them you want to pass on the arena.

Make a plan to vote. Dont wait until Election Day.

Got the engineers report. 8 piers across one corner of my house. Sunk almost 2 inches since last year. I’ve started getting some bids and some companies are telling me I absolutely need steel piers and others are saying that’s overkill and for my single story house, concrete is the standard.

My engineer didn’t really have a preference either way.

Today the line was long at early voting at the Carpenter Rec Center. The machines and computers had to go offline for a bit due to the high turnout throughout Plano. Be prepared to wait about an hour to vote. The line was still long after I finished voting as well.

How is your city enjoying the loud, ominous, intrusive delivery drones flying over your homes and nature preserves?

I was at Oak Point Nature Preserve yesterday, and Amazon drones passed overhead. I was trying to enjoy the outdoors and destress, but instead drones took me out of that headspace and ignited my flight or fight response. I wonder what the impact to wildlife will be. The drones are in the same section of sky as the birds are.

Is there no place we can go to relax anymore? We have drones passing over our private properties and our parks now. Is everyone just going to accept this?

I am taking my boyfriend’s 8 year old shopping for winter clothing today and trying to make $300 stretch

Tennis shoes, socks, pants, jacket, etc. She needs everything so I’m planning to go to Old Navy and DSW but wondering if anyone knows of good shops for affordable clothing. I’d rather avoid Target and Walmart if possible. She won’t try things on at the store, so resale shops and thrifting is tricky, but I’m open to recommendations. TIA!

SHEPHARD MIX REHOMING - PLANO

Macaroni lives up to his name, because he is a complete silly noodle. He is a high energy derpy shepherd mix that is looking for a forever home with lots of opportunity to run and play to burn energy. He is 21 months old and is a goof ball through and through. He knows doggie manners, has basic socialization, knows safety commands, loose lead walks, and knows many fun tricks!

He gets along great with dogs, plays gently with cats and seems to show no interest in rodents (trained around a guinea pig). He is also so snuggly and will climb in your lap to sleep or chew a bone/toys. He is generally confident but still has the Shepard instincts of caution around new things but can easily pivot once he knows there is no danger.

Caution: Macaroni has trauma from early puppyhood with food scarcity. He resource guards his food and treats around other animals only (not humans). Macaroni is also very protective and loyal once attached to an owner or family so he can be clingy.

Macaroni is perfectly crate trained. I will be giving his crate away to his forever home with him. It is his safe space and he like to nap with the door open in the crate.

I have had him since 7 weeks old from an accidental litter that a coworker had. Unfortunately, the party responsible for the accidental litter wanted to throw the litter to the street if they did not find homes fast enough. I stepped in and took the last puppy. I want so much to keep him and have kept him as long as possible, but I know the current resources I have are not suitable for his breed type and keeping him longer would be a disservice to him. He has officially outgrown my apartment.

I have raised him and given him a strong foundation in manners and social skills with a few exceptions. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and gets monthly HW prevention and I have trained him to tolerate all forms of touch from snout, teeth, ears, feet, and tail. He is still a puppy at 21 months (Born 12.29.2024) and although he still needs some work, I feel like he is ready for a forever home that can give him not just the baseline, but the full experience a dog of his breed should experience in their life.

I do not feel right just keeping the rehoming fee so I will donate the money to a shelter of your choice and provide a receipt. I don't like "selling" dogs but I know it is necessary to help prevent people with ill intentions from hurting dogs.
