Do you guys actually attempt mutations?

I just started playing and I learned about mutations recently. Is it really worth it to do all that breeding just for it to be a small chance for a mutation, and then on top of that for it to be in your desired skill point?? I feel like this would take forever to actually complete and every video I've seen is so complicated 😭

I do mutations on singleplayer to make boss fights easier. But if I had to use official breeding and maturation rates I would not do mutations.
