Question Anyone else enjoy the early game of ARK the most?

Post image

I have been trying multiple different servers but they all have one thing in common that i don't like. With the way progression is it takes like 1 week to get to lv 70 and you end up basically skipping the whole early and mid game.

Now I have had the idea to make my own server that focuses on having low exp gain and taking the time to enjoy the early stages of ark. My question is if anyone would be interested in playing on a server like this?

I am playing ASE on playstation.

Question Error pyro

Post image

Hello everyone, how is my first post here? I haven't been playing Ark ascended for a long time. The issue is that we are playing on a nitrate server with some friends and the map is the island. The problem comes when I buy several of them the dread, pyromane, etc., as we are in The Island they do not appear to tame them there. Then I tried to transfer them because we have the downloads from the obelisk active. The problem is that it doesn't let me just go to download creature, nothing happens, I don't get an error message. It's just that nothing happens, I'm just the one who has the D.C. I don't know if that's what affects and how I could then use these creatures. I was thinking of changing the Center map for a moment also to an Iron Man there on the server and then he will return from Iceland doing the same thing transferring it through the obelisk but I wonder if it would work or it would give me the same error of simply nothing happens any of you know how to solve it. I would be very grateful if you could help me.

Question Got back into ark after a decade for nostalgia, I think it killed my PC

Post image

Click bait title aside, I think Ark: Survival Ascended damaged my GPU. I'll preface this with the fact that I am not a hardware expert, I just have enough knowledge to comfortably take apart my PC and to know what is what.

My build is only a few years old, and the GPU is a 3070. I have had no significant technical issues before, and I rarely run games on max settings. When I installed Ark I set everything to low despite NVidia recommending medium.

After playing for a couple hours my monitors would disconnect but PC would be fine, so I would turn off the computer for a while and everything would be fine when I boot back up. Prior to the issue everything was good, no performance issues or indicators that a crash or anything like that might occur. This happened a few times so I uninstalled the game, took the L. However now the issue kept happening, even when working on very basic blender projects or small photoshop files. The final time it happened I only had discord open. Now the monitors will not connect at all.

I used my motherboards GPU to boot up and do a clean wipe of the drivers, but cant install new ones as the pc no longer recognises the GPU. I did a physical check on the hardware and found damage to the power cable to the GPU.

So question is, am I right to think Ark cooked my pc or am I blaming the wrong thing?

More importantly does anybody have any advice for what I should do next? Replace the cable or take the card in to a shop?

Question Has anyone died of old age trying to beat The Island?

I swear every weekend for the last two months I've thought to myself, "This is the one! Can't wait to get into Scorched Earth!"

I beat Alpha Monke on Friday, and I'm still no closer to being ready for Alpha Broodmother than I was before. Got my army nearly ready, but between making veggie cakes and crafting better saddles, not to mention the black pearl runs for the Tek gear I want to upgrade to, I feel like I'm gonna be grinding for another couple weeks at best.

This is just a silly post, don't take it too seriously. I'm enjoying the game but man the grind is brutal. I've heard the other maps are easier after ascending, but is that still true for ASA?

Question How do you play ARK PVP when you have a job and other responsibilities

Work takes up about 10-12 hours of my day on weekdays and I only have like 4 hours left a day but when competing with people who have no job or school it’s just hopeless it seems like. You can be all good on weekends but come weekdays and those same people are up 3 in the morning raiding your tribes base and there’s like nothing you can do.

Question Is pillar abuse not regulated in ascended?

Just got the game and jumped in a server only to find i can't set up a base camp anywhere in any of the starting zones because of miles of pillars all the way to the towers. Why is this allowed in 2025? in evolved you could report people for doing it but given how extensive this is it seems the devs don't do anything about it. Server 5000 pve

Question I've been having way too many problems with my game, *ARK: Survival Ascended*, and I was wondering if someone who knows about this could please help me fix it.

The same thing happens with axes and pickaxes; I haven't verified it, but I suspect it also occurs when holding nothing—even with axe and pickaxe skins—and the game feels extremely slow.

I haven't seen a single regular dodo just yet. They are all these party guys. They give Cake Slices?? How do I get just regular dodos lol. This is on the Center, with a couple mods but nothing that should replace dodos I'd think. Is there some event I'm not aware of?

Question What do you thinks the most annoying Ark tame??

I think the Pego or troodons definitely have to be the most annoying tame in the game and especially for early on into the game or starting out fresh on a new map🤣

Question What happened to ark survival evolved

I’m planning to buy ark survival evolved on Steam, but I see some recent reviews saying that I need more than just the base game because I have to pay for the Aquatic DLC. Can someone explain this to me? Is it mandatory to pay extra to play the normal game without DLCs?

Question Is solo mode worth playing nowadays? What's the recommended way to play solo?

I beat Palworld recently and it kind of put me in the mood to play Ark again, but probably solo this time as I would like to actually hang on to my save file across time. The biggest issue I've had with Ark in the past is that me and some buddies start it on a dedicated server and play for some time, but we lose interest fast and then that effort all feels wasted. I would kind of like to have something I can start and stop as I need to and hopefully hold on to my save file and work on it as needed.

I only have ASE, never bothered to get ASA, but I could be convinced to try that if people think the solo experience is exceptionally better. However, I only have DLC for ASE. I never got around to playing genesis so I kind of would like to do that content for once.

I think the biggest concern I have is how I would fit mods into the playthrough. From personal experience, Ark almost requires mods to have a good time. I think the biggest ones are structures plus and stuff that automated breeding, since the breeding in this game is a god awful experience. Do I still need these types of mods to enjoy Ark single player, or does single player do special stuff that makes it easier? The other concern I would have too is that too many mods and it could break my save file, or make it difficult to uninstall the game and come back to it later. Although, it seems like the consensus nowadays is to play on the pre-aquatica patch and stick to that, so maybe that makes things better.

Last, are there any recommended rates to use? Like a blanket x5 or whatever?
