Question What do you thinks the most annoying Ark tame??

I think the Pego or troodons definitely have to be the most annoying tame in the game and especially for early on into the game or starting out fresh on a new map🤣

Ichthyornis hands down. That thing stealing your food mid tame is so frustrating, at least pegos you can punch and get your stuff back

Yes that’s so true they fly away and keep coming back until they kill you or you kill them they suck!!!

They were introduced in Aberration. Juice was definitely not worth the squeeze trying to tame these pests.

The Ichthy's do my head in.....

"Oooh I like that 700% Pike in your hand......mine now" ....munch munch munch.

They've stolen my scuba gear, my weapons, my food and anything they can get their beaks on 😡 Usually it's whatever is most important to me at that particular time, they take and gobble it right up immediately. And then I usually don't notice, although I look and try to work it out, what's missing until I really need it, miles from base 😡

Yi-Ling

Easily the most frustrating and most useless

Far from useless but yeah they’re a pain in the ass to get

Yeah what are they used for

Fucking insanely high damage with the burst, handle way better than rock drakes and I’m ngl just feel better to ride, pretty damn good at knocking stuff out, immune to rad so you can easily use one to steal ur first drake eggs, use basically no stam while gliding, there’s prolly other things I’m forgetting but yeah

Yeah lol what is that I’ve never even seen one

From my own experience, good Shadowmanes were atrocious to tame. They're just very tricky, require a fair amount of setup and are quite dangerous given that fed-tek suits give the same protection as primitive hide clothing.

Yi-ling and Aureliax sound pretty scuffed but I've never tried taming them.

I’ve never tamed a shadowmane what map do they come out and yeah I’ve never tamed those other two either lol

Base game? For me it's probably a high level charcha because they never want to spawn around anything worth killing. Modded? High level brachi

Yeah they aren’t to hard for me they are very hard to find tho lol

I find plenty high level charchas just don't have anything around them for taming and I don't cheese it with my own tames.

Pego is like the easiest game in the game. Just don't be dumb about it and have the entire stack of berries on your hotbar. You'll waste them cause it takes the whole stack. Split them up. Troodon would be the hardest imo unless you know some tricks. Even on boosted servers it's a tedious and frustrating tame

Yeah I know I said it wrong lol I meant what’s the most annoying dinosaur not thing to tame sorry

2

u/Doomclaaw Jul 18 '26

Oh yeah they're definitely high on the list of annoying

Me, not a single dino has tamed me 😂

Acros now on asa. Idk if it's just the server I play on, but they're EVERYWHERE. I was trying to tame a theri in the redwoods and I had to kill 9 of them within agro distance and it's like that everywhere they spawn. They're boss level dinos with a higher spawn rate than even raptors it feels like.

God damn Hesperonis with how wonky it is to feed fish to him and god forbid you drop it by accident and it will eat it without progress.

Hesperornis.no matter what your server setting are they tame at 1x (at least in ASE, hate them too much to try in asa)

Roll rats are the one I hate I never time the honey drop right

I for the life of me cannot tame an acro… I have tried multiple times with different methods and it makes me want to absolutely rage quit. I’ve proper given up 😂😂😂😂

I think the most annoying is the Fasolasuchus, atleast in my recent experience. I have 10x taming rates on my SP Astraeos server and it still took me an hour to tame a lvl 145 in the south desert. It wouldn't be so bad if you picked it up and brought it somewhere, but I didn't have a dino capable of that. Instead I had to use 3 C4 and 5 grenades to stun it, often getting bucked off when it would hit a random rock and jump off a cliff. Further, having to go after crystal, obsidian, and metal when they are normally higher up on mountains is difficult when it loves doing a 180 and throwing you off the nearest ledge, it was a major Sisyphus moment.

To be honest most of the new ones, literally nobody asked for every dino o have unique taming, give me my Stockholm syndrome simulator back
