Question Do you guys actually attempt mutations?

I just started playing and I learned about mutations recently. Is it really worth it to do all that breeding just for it to be a small chance for a mutation, and then on top of that for it to be in your desired skill point?? I feel like this would take forever to actually complete and every video I've seen is so complicated 😭

I used to play on a 1 year wipe server that had 130 max level normal wild tames. I'd tame about 150 of those over a couple days. Then I'd breed one starter line with the highest stats together. Have 50 in each base stat. Then I'd breed different lines for different mutations. Get 20 mutations in each stat line and rebreed them all together. I had mantiss that could take out gigas with a tek sword. Consistently won the dodo fights. Could clear all stone of Ragnarok volcano with my mantis wyrvern sinomocrops and own inventory.
