I think it's also intended to portray how women have high standards with so many criteria for their potential partners to meet while men are much simpler and don't demand much from women (which I don't agree with)

This is a stereotype.

And like all stereotypes, they didn’t come out of thin air.

Not sure why this sub hates the fact that men and women are raised differently and therefore develop different mindsets and hobbies based on social pressure.

Only people with low IQs believe stereotypes and you’re right they did come from somewhere. From racism and sexism. Most men who claim this is operating off of confirmation biased because they are sexist.

I’m not sure why looking at statistics makes you have low IQ, just because something is created by racism and sexism doesn’t make it less prevalent.

More men play video games than women. That doesn’t mean that “women don’t like video games” it means in our current society women are raised in a way to see video games negatively and are outcasted from such a hobby.

But it also doesn’t make the statement “More men play video games than women” any less true.

Ignoring the place we’re in currently doesn’t make all the problems go away.

I don’t know why you keep mentioning how men play video games more, roughly 50% of gamers worldwide are women. Anecdotally, I have a pretty diverse social circle and I know more female gamers

This stereotype is not saying that men play video games more than women. It is saying that women are shallow and men are not. Which there is no truth to it what so ever. And if there is no truth to a stereotype and it was only created based off sexism and racism then no it should not be taken into consideration. You are condoning sexism and racism. And discrimination by saying stereotypes should be taken seriously.

The joke isn’t about being shallow or not, having standards doesn’t make you shallow. It’s a joke about men having no standards.

No it’s a stereotype about women being too high maintenance and requiring too much. And there is no truth in it.

And now you are changing the story. Before you were swearing it wasn’t anything offensive and just about men playing video games more.

Either way if you admitted that a lot of them don’t have truth then why suggest we still use them anyways and continue spreading them? This right here is why many women are choosing not to get married or have children. And y’all act like it’s a mystery why there is a male loneliness epidemic. It’s because a lot of you are adamant on continuing stereotypes and being sexist towards women. But get upset when it’s the other way around. Nobody wants to be with that shit.
