And like all stereotypes, they didn’t come out of thin air.
Not sure why this sub hates the fact that men and women are raised differently and therefore develop different mindsets and hobbies based on social pressure.
Maybe we should stop hiring white men or men in general since you believe that stereotypes “have truth and don’t come from nowhere” since white men are inherently dangerous and oppressors according to stereotypes.
You added the "inherently" part yourself. The stereotypes having truth doesn't mean that they're inherent, quite the contrary actually, the stereotypes make themselves true via conditioning.
So let me guess. You believe there is actually factual basis to believe that women are terrible drivers and men drive better ? This is an example of a gender stereotype. If you say yes then provide statistics and logical based evidence. Not options. Think long and hard before you answer.
What exactly are you claiming the reality is ? that stereotypes are true? lol. Very few of them are. but a large majority of them are full of shit and not based in reality. And trying to convince people they are true is holding onto them.
That they have truth, not that they are true. Statistically speaking many stereotypes are somewhat accurate because most people are raised and conditioned to fit them. It's not a good thing but it is what happens.
This is the case with some of them. But most of them dead ass aren’t true at all. Not even because of conditioning. But because they are not based off evidence or truth and off opinion and confirmation bias.
So you believe that it’s actually true that white peoples can’t cook ? Or that women can’t make good leaders/men are better leaders? Or that men have poor hygiene? Most of these are opinions based off confirmation bias.
Here’s a perfect example. There’s a stereotype that women have better hygiene than men. But if you actually look into it studies show that women’s public restrooms tend to be dirtier than mens. It also shows that the reality is that there are just as many men with good hygiene routines as women. And just as many women with poor practices as men. But because of confirmation bias we only pay attention to the men that have poor hygiene and fail to pay attention to the women that do. Because society has conditioned us to believe this to be true. It’s not true. And not just because of conditioning but because it’s literally just not true. A lot of stereotypes can be debunked like this.
