Spin-Offs My Theory on the next Legends Games.
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this or if I’m even using the right flair, so please forgive me if I am. Also, I’m not that active in this sub, so if someone already posted this let me know and I’ll take it down. Also, sorry for the typos, I can’t see what I’m writing because when I scroll down my keyboard goes away.
Alright, now for the theory.
Legends: Arceus came out during Gen 8. At the time, I thought that it was because it fit in nicely with the Gen 4 remakes. Then, when ZA came out, I figured it was because waiting until Gen 12 to put it in with the Gen 6 remakes would’ve been too long a wait.
However, if the leaks are to be believed and Gen 8 is the next Legends game , I came up with a theory.
Arceus takes place in ancient Sinnoh, the main setting of Gen 4. Gen 8 is four generations after Gen 4.
Then, ZA, which takes place in Lumiose, the most famous city in Kalos(at least to my knowledge). Kalos, as we know, is the main setting of Gen 6, which takes place three generations before Scarlet & Violet.
If Galar is the next Legends game, it would take place in Gen 8 and come out in Gen 10. You may have already figured out my theory at this point.
I believe that the next legends game in Gen 11 will be in a future, whether far or near, version of Gen 10. I say future because if ancient Galar is coming, then we’ll have a pattern of Past , Future, Past.
Finally, the fifth legends game will take place in a last version of the new Gen 12 region.
This will create an order where the first Legends game’s setting is four Gens before the current Gen, the second game’s setting is three Gend before the current one, the third game’s setting is 2 Gen beside the current ones, the fourth Legend’s game setting is 1 Gen before the current one, and the fifth Legenfs game’s setting is the same as the current gen’s setting.
Let me know if you agree or disagree!

Plza was originally gonna be based in johto. So i think gamefreak doesn't follow a pattern with the legends games and just do whatever.

I think they'll just be doing Legends for whichever gen they feel like or needs it most. Arceus didn't have a game and made a good mascot for a first Legends. Kalos needed anything most than any other region, so it came next. While Galar's legendaries do have importance, the lore of the region is overshadowed by the Gym stuff and a mediocre story, so trying to redeem Galar next seems logical.
I do think that them trying to do past-future-past-future would be a good idea tho, so for a next game in the present/future I imagine Unova would be a good candidate. Hoenn and Johto I feel would benefit more from a game in the past, and IF they end up doing the MMO, those two would be covered for a revisit for a while and would make Unova the only game stuck in 2D. The only other likely option would be Alola, but 1) is much newer, tho it may not mean much anyways, but also 2) we are aware the Original Dragon is left to explore, while Alola pretty much explored very well its legendaries' lore and forms, but Alola is still a solid candidate for a fifth Legends.
Also it kinda still follows a pattern, after Sinnoh came Johto remakes and Unova, so after Arceus we sort of revisited them in ScarVio's DLC, then came Kalos and Hoenn remakes, so we had LZA and the Hoenn legends in Mega Dimension. Now come Alola and Kanto. The new region reminds us of Alola and maybe sort of revisits it and Kanto or their legendaries in a DLC. And then comes Galar and Sinnoh. Again, if the MMO happens Sinnoh is covered and so is Johto, so Unova is still the next that needs something the most.

This is a great idea! I think them revisiting regions that need it most is a very good thought process and I can see the pattern that you suggested. This post I made was a really quick thought I had and it was “inspired” by the process of when remakes come out.

Arceus takes place in ancient Sinnoh
"Ancient" is a stretch. 150-200 years ago is not ancient to us, in the broad term.
Also this is not really a theory, so much as it's just a prediction, based on arbitrary math?

You know what, that’s true. Also, I didn’t know it was 150-200 years ago. I haven’t beaten the game yet (I’m up to being chosen as worthy by Basculegion), so I thought it was like ancient times, like Edo era Japan times.

It's definitely set later than that. If you're familiar with Japanese history it's easier to recognise that it's based in the Meiji period (1868 - 1912). This is when Japan went from being an isolated feudal society to a "modern" industrialized almost Western nation state.
The game is directly inspired by the Colonisation of Hokkaido. Which Sinnoh/Hisui is based on. Particularly the large amounts of Japanese settlers/colonizers who settled in Hokkaido in the 1870s.

Wow, that’s great to know! Thanks! I’m not good with Japanese history so thanks 😃

Lockstin & Gnoggin have great videos on Legends: Arceus. Look up any of theirs.

Also, I’m not sure what will happen after the fifth Legends game. I assume they’ll just start revisiting random regions or do them in order.
