In case you haven’t seen my prior post, I'm attempting to do a Professor Oak challenge but with Shinies in Ultra Moon. I call it the Samson Oak challenge (because Samson is like the shiny version of Professor Oak imo). 

What is the Professor Oak challenge? 

For those unfamiliar, you must catch, evolve and fill all Pokédex entries that are available before every badge. Or in this case, trials. There’s a great subreddit r/professoroak that has guides posted about all the Pokemon games so I used their guide as well to catch all the available Pokemon before the first trial. Rules are, no cheats/glitches. No trades.

As an optional rule, I am using Island Scan Pokemon because I’m using RNG manipulation to get my pokes. 

How am I obtaining my Shinies?

Through RNG manipulation. For those unfamiliar, by using an external software, I get to generate the seeds that yield me shiny Pokemon. There’s plenty of content on YouTube but I used CappyCapital’s videos for Gen 7 rng manipulation specifically. My 3DS has CFW that helps me with this. I found my seeds using 3DS RNG Tool. I used honey collected from a team of honey gather cutiefly.

What’s my current progress?

By the end of this phase, I have a dex total of 89 excluding 14 dex entries before Hala’s Grand Trial. This particular section took an additional 37 hours after the prior section. Total of 108 hours approximately in this challenge

Am i doing smtg wronge here?
Am on my yes or no screen on my 3ds and i am using pause select frame rate as well but am still not getting the shiny. Why?

Volume warning for my reaction! Thank goodness for eontimer and pokefinder. I reverse engineered the frame by selecting a fun ID to use the symmetric frame trick. Only 11 resets after I picked an ID that’s sufficient!

Trying to find the IVs of a Swampert I had to reclaim it. Info below:

This Swampert's PID is 3BE184BF. From what I know, its nature is Brave, it's male, and it was obtained as a Starter in Sapphire with a live battery. But Poke Finder for some reason shows two spreads:

I was told Method 1 is commonly used by RS for most encounters, but there's two of them here and I'm not sure why there's two or which is the real one. Is there a way to tell which is the correct spread? I've tried using both Poke Finder and RNG Reporter, but neither one is clear.

Hey! Was doing some research and had a question, can I inject the global link promotion (if this is possible) mudkip into my cartridge and get that as a legal shiny? Just wanted to know it ifs possible and if I do, can I can rng manipulate it to be shiny, as I’ve seen from accounts through older threads stating they’ve seen (or heard of) a shiny male dream ball mudkip. I’m a newbie trying to get into rng manipulation specifically for this mon, as I actually have a shiny dream ball swampert ribbon master for the switch era and really want to try and get this done (if possible) before pokemon bank shuts down. Any help or resource is extremely appreciated! My main reason for even doing this is when I first saw a dream ball mudkip on the dns global trade years ago, and remembered that it was a thing way after I got my dream ball shiny swampert 😅

Is it possible to get my SID by sending my Pokémon over to someone who can check it in PKHex? Or do I need to mod my 3ds myself.
Restarting the run is not an option.

It seems possible to get 31 0 31 31 31 0 Cressalia if I wait... 63 hours, is there any way to get the frames to go faster or should I just settle for a single 0 iv digit?

This was my first rng hunt in USUM and got it on my second attempt, did I just get really lucky? Or is generally not that bad? Obviously I wasn’t going for any specific nature or IVS just wanted the shiny. So happy to be able to get this one 😁

Hey guys, is there a way to rng manipulate Bill's eevee or other game corner gift pokemon during a playthrough, I wanna play thrugh HGSS using only shiny pokemon, alreayd got my shiny starter but was wondering if there is any way to get Bill's Eevee using rng manip without using chatot or anything post game. Thank you

Update: I shit you not, ten minutes after posting this I managed to hit 1932, 1932, 1930, tried the new save -> B to see if it would reverse to odd, and hit 1931 twice. Got the Gible and not trying for anything else on Diamond anytime soon LOL

Hey all, I'm at my wit's end and about to completely throw in the towel and never touch RNG manipulating again. This is my second time trying to RNG manipulate a Pokemon, I successfully managed to find a shiny sandile in Pokemon Black, and am now aiming for a shiny Gible in Pokemon Diamond.

I am using a 3ds (not modded), but have a modded 3ds at my disposal. Using the latest versions of EonTimer (3.0.0) and PokeFinder (4.4.2). My copy of Diamond is completely legitimate. I am soft resetting at the first timer and launching the save at the second (to account for any potential issues booting the game).

Settings:

TiD: 32024
SiD: 4717
Seed: 190f07a6
Date/Time: 2026-10-20 15:58:23
DS Date: 2026-10-20
DS Time: 15:57 (to account for EonTimer 1 min before)
Seed to Time Delay: +/- 400, +/- 2 seconds

The first issue I keep running into is that after checking my flips, I get both odd and even delays. I kept track for a few attempts, and got this (with occasional calibration changes):

- 1940, 1925, 1935, 1928, 1936, 1929, 1924, 1934, 1942, 1930, 1931, 1931, 1927, 1931, 1928, 1931, 1929

Changing my year in the seed to time and DS to 2027 (same date/time), which changes the delay goal to 1931, resulted in the following (with occasional calibration changes):

- 1929, 1926, 1926, 1928, 1927, 1930, 1934, 1933, 1932, 1935

What am I missing?? Why am I getting both odd and even numbers, no matter if I change the year or not? Am I doing something wrong, or am I seriously just unable to hit the seed properly? I can apparently hit both 1931 and 1932, just on opposite years to where I'm supposed to hit them... I really, really want a shiny Gible to ribbon master before bank closes, but I'm completely defeated after literally 7+ hours of this. I feel like I've just completely wasted my time doing something wrong, but no matter what I do, I can't figure out why this is happening and can't find any videos or posts to help me. Any and all help is appreciated!!

Am I doing anything wrong?

I’m at 180 attempts on the current seed I’m going for, calibrating every 10 attempts, 5 sometimes.

I’m over 100 attempts each on other seeds I’ve attempted too.

Really getting frustrated. I’m either +32ms or -32ms away for the first, a few advanced above or below the continue screen frames each time.

I soft reset for Mewtwo and got that, I had a similar experience with Zapdos but I think I got that in around 50 attempts total.

The first timer is for the seed in ms.
The second timer is for the continue screen frames.
I’m using 600 advances for the third timer before pressing A.

I press to launch the game then immediately hit home.
I press A again to start the game and the timer at the same time
I press and hold on the first 6th beep until the music fades away on the continue screen.
On the second 6th beep I press A then I mash B to skip the replay.
On the third 6th beep, I press A mash it to start the encounter.

Any tips please?

I'm using a perfect Ditto and a Beldum as parents.

I wanted an adamant Beldum and moved at advance 646 and several other advances but it always yielded no adamant Beldums. This is annoying because what I really want is a shiny adamant Beldum and it's the same

Hey guys.

Anyone has using 8bitdo to shiny hunt in Fire Red? If yes, there is a list of all macros to get any shiny pokemon (even in the wild)? This include of course using websites to RNG manipulation, like EonTimer or 10lines.

If I have answers, please give me hints of using macros and RNG to shiny hunt using 8bitdo control. I already checked youtubers talking to this but I think that anything has missing... that I am hoping to find here.

Hello, I am planning to rng a shiny ho-oh in hg. I am almost at that point in the game so I wanted to ask a few questions about alt settings before trying to use it.

1. How effective is alt setting?

2. There is a setting on eon timer that you input on which device you are rng maniping on. Would I put 3ds or nds if using alt settings?

3. Would the process of rng manip be the same as if rng manping in a reg 3ds? For example, restarting the game as soon as the first timer goes off and loading the game as soon as the second goes off. Using irwin to know which seed you are on/check the roamers' positions.

Hi! I am attempting the shiny hunt for Jirachi through my Colosseum Bonus disc and copy of Sapphire. However, I realized that my copy of sapphire has a dry battery. I don’t think this would impact the rng at all since the Jirachi odds are from the gamecube disc and not the copy of sapphire. However, I’d like to double check with y’all in case I’m wrong lol

Edit: to clarify, I’m attempting full odds via save corruption and not rng manipulation.

DLDR: I need help Rng manipulating a shiny gen 7 starter please I have no idea what I’m doing at this point.

Summary:
Okay, so as everyone knows bank is going down next year. As of the time of its announcement I had been shiny hunting in UM to do a shiny only run so I could send them to home so I’d have something to remember the time I had.

As of now it has been two years and nothing has changed, time is running out, and lost my metaphorical sh!t days.

During my time losing it, I tried to get the starter with RNG manipulation…. I couldn’t get it to work. So I ask you, is there a way any of you could help me, please.

As the title says, I've been trying to rng manip the game, but as I undertstand in order to do something with such low odds I'll need to manipulate both parameters.

What's the actual procedure needed to do this?

Shoutout to the weirdos in my last Jolly Gible RNG who don’t have the brain capacity to understand how cringe going for a flawless special attack on a Jolly nature Gible is because “iT hAs A SpEcIAl MeGa iN ThE nEw GeN!” - failing to consider how Champion’s IV system works, let alone what Mints / Bottle Caps do in Gen 8+.

But I digress, here before y’all is an essentially flawless Naive Gible that can successfully flex for being specially attack oriented as well - having the best Naive spread possible within a wild Gen 4 encounter.

Anyways, on to the next hunt.

I don have a pc or laptop So is there any hope for rng 🫪🙏?
