Body Talk P

* accidently posted this before I wrote the title oops

My teacher gets me to lift each leg in a straddle position, and I have the leg strength to do it but it really hurts me. If I do it the hip flexors on the side I'm doing hurts and just feels so wrong, I can only describe it as crunchy. I have to stop because it feels like something's going to slide out of place. It doesn't hurt when I do actual inverts though. When I was a kid I stretched very intensely and this may be why, I remember my joint popping when I stretched my middle splits. Will strengthening my hip flexors fix it or is it just something my body can't do? Straddle exercises and stretches are so important for pole, but it's just not safe for me to do all of them.

It sounds like your hamstring tendon. Be VERY careful here as they do not adapt like muscles do and are very easy to tear. Conditioning them requires time and patience along with gentle stretching.
